Do folks like to check out abandoned games?

I'll play an abandoned if it sounds up my alley and also I see a bunch of people talking about it. I know that it is going to hurt when I reach the cliff, but if after abandonment people are still talking about it, it is probably great. I just read of one on a different site that inspired a different dev's game and character and I thought "I have to play something that was so good that it influenced future games".

Honestly fine with it as long as it isn't broken. I'm a fan of the original Head Game even though the creator shifted to a different game engine before completion (MetaHuman with Unreal, I think). If there's good content, especially the interactive kind, I'll come back to enjoy it again. As a result, I'm not afraid to try out abandoned projects as long as the comments say it's playable.

It's a mixed blessing. I've noticed that some of the top ranked games are abandoned. When I see one of those, I find that my curiosity eventually leads me to download the game. I then understand exactly why the game was so beloved and join the chorus of people griping about it being abandoned.

I don't actively seek out abandoned games but always gets edged at the end finding out the game has been dropped by the dev for years now ToT

Some of the best games have been abandoned. Which is awful. So i check them out sometimes, but i admit i do try and stay away from them unless i have a good reason to play it. Like if i already know its hot.

God that feeling is awful, when you finally find a good game on your niche, and just when it's getting good it end, and you going to see the development and see that is abandoned, it's one of the worst feelings ever

I normally filter out abandoned games. I dont like to know that the game is never getting an ending but i dont find anything else i want to play if the game is good enough i may try it

Exactly.
I'm not usually interested in playing abandoned games either, but if a game introduced a feature, story, or idea that later inspired other developers, I'd definitely be willing to try it.

There are some abandoned games that have more content than active and completed games. The one that comes to memory is "regional manager". Crazy amount of content for an abandoned game. Goes hard into the dark corruption path.

I'll only really check out an abandoned game if a lot of people are recommending and hyping it up, and even then I still rarely do it. I hate playing an amazing game that's really sunk it's hooks into me just to have the game abruptly stop right in the middle.
