Well, with holodeck levels of VR, most of humanity will anyhow disappear in virtual worlds. But since there are far too many of us anyhow, that's a good thing. A self chosen extinction for the benefit of the rest of the world.

And anyhow, AIs will be running everything. It's not as if they need many of us around.

Don't think it will happened anytime soon though. Because technically speaking we're still far away from actually having anything remotely close to real AI. It's not 'intelligent' per se. Wait til it can actually understand the concept of fingers and create proper hands without becoming 6 or 8 fingers then we can start worrying
