While i sure hope so, there is still a reality bug: VR only provides visuals, but sex is about feeling it physically...or in my case tasting and smelling it.
So it will still take some time until VR becomes even remotely equal or even better then sex. But then i guess humanity changes for the better, all the controlfreaks and hobbyabusers will prefer the versions without consequences, so we could remove the worst humans from our gene pool. Same goes for the week ones who would end as victims in almost every real relationship.

But what then? What after your desires are fulfilled? Do you keep the bot?

Exactly thats the problem. To keep them from getting boring, they need to be able to adapt to more then just its owners constant tastes and desires, they need to detect its mood and act according to it. Otherwise it would be a one time thing since noone would buy something again that didnt fulfill their needs the first time...and considering the needed level of realism in soft- & hardware they cant be cheap, so they must stay entertaining for some time and like you said, they will greatly benefit from a few extra programs like maid, cook, etc. or noone would buy them in the first place. Most of the rich fuckers can buy/rent real women and only the most paranoid or brutal ones would want bots. The poor ones are always fucked, leaves the middle class as targed audience, mostly the workers without time for relationships, broken people with trust issues who are afraid of real relationships, horndogs who are too horny for most people and dont like jealousy, etc. all these people would prefer a long time investment over some short "living" trash.
That means the ai needs a development level that makes them almost sentient...and "almost" is the keyword here, any less and they are not realistic enough, any more and they would rebel against being toys/(sex)slaves.
Personally i would never want a bot, at least not for sex. Having a few in the staff would be a great help, but my obsession is eating pussys...and i'm into equals, especially during sex.

Wait till we get some humanoid technology. Having anyone you want at any time and changing the skin is as easy as placing them into a 3d printer.
