I actually in real porn skip past all but penis-vag and penis-anal. The worst is there are ones that have "anal" in the title and have more than twice as much oral as anal. I think there's already been researches that found out that feet stuff is indeed a very common fetish. I guess people are just afraid of being open of it, so on the internet, where they don't need to hide their kinks, this starts being reflected.

So it’s unlikely that anyone will remove them from games. Moreover, they are often added as progress. At first simple scenes like this, then something more interesting.

I concur. They games that start with straight sex without progression either tend to remain flat or end up wandering into more extreme territory to create a progression. I prefer the extremities over the flat plane

I think it would be weird if a porn game didn't have a handjob scene. In a vacuum, handjob scenes are not particularly titillating, but I think they are important for story progression.

Because jumping straight to sex, or other main sex scenes skips the point of build up. although I agree with some of your reasons, there has to be some build up, or the game will be too fast, and boring.
Look at all the game that make money. Most, if not all, have build up... slow burn.
Games with instant sex? Make shit for money. Facts are fact. And again, I agree with you on how some of those can be boring, most people don't agree with us on those opinions.
Gotta remember, most of us devs make games as a full time job. We have to have games that last longer than a few updates. Not hit it, and quit it games. Tehy don't make money. (Mostly) They don't support devs in the long term. Althought I am fully against milking subs too. Very against that bullshit.

I'll add that in some games too, the handjob doesn't just serve as build-up for the MC to progress to further sexual encounters, but also works as a way for a female character to become more comfortable with the thought of sex. In games where a female character is framed as inexperienced sexually or in corruption games where the female characters slowly accept more sexual positions, the handjob can be a nice transition. In that Trainer game -which one?- Hermione is barely okay giving a handjob for House Points then becomes quite more amenable to fun activities. In Lust Village, the mother justifies that it's just a handjob she's giving her son even as we know she's eventually going to go crazy with him.

Maybe we can agree that handjobs are a necessary evil in many games - okay as part of a slide progression but not where we'd want to finally end up ;-p

I'm with you! Some of the best games have a build up and progression that is logical and exciting, but doesn't stray into either the realm of starting full throttle from the gates with no where to go, or meandering about in some wide loop of unsatisfying scenes that just milk the supporters. I'll add that a great build-up scene doesn't have to have a sexual act per se at all. One of my favorite scenes involved a game of Twister that was cut short, alas.

That's a good question. I wouldn't call them grinding (though that's definitely a relative term). More necessary in story driven games definitely, where the female love-interest is given a personality and so the handjob is part of her story.

When I think of grinding, I think of a lot of unfulfilling repetition of the exact same act to try and get some reward. I would say that if a game compelled you to have more than one or two handjob scenes with the same character in order to get more content, that would definitely meet my definition of grinding ;-p

In my opinion it's just made to add a sense of progression to the relationship of the characters.
