Well, its just that many sandbox games just have this grind feel to them like okay, click here 10 times before you can move on type thing. When I've experienced it so many times, it just gets to the point that, 'is this game even worth the effort'?
It seems to me these days that every time i find a sandbox game, I get this feeling either, 'why couldn't this have been a VN?' or 'i just wasted an hour and haven't had either alot of progress or very little progress'. Its designed to be tedious. Go here x hour at x day. Then do that 5 times before the next new event! Ugh.
But to answer your question as to certain sandbox games that have driven me crazy . . .
- Really bad grindy games
- Tangled Up is one. Hell there was a second game out of that as well now that i think of it. Yeah, terrible!
- Lust and Power is another good Example of alot of time wasted there.
- I semi remember Live in Corruption being grindy.
- Alot of the HTML based ones are some of the worst.
- Decent Games with some grind factor that can get annoying
- Simple Days is an example of a decent SandBox game but the grind of doing the same things with so many different women / how to make progress in that game can be annoying.
- summertime Saga (before the 'Enhanced milking crap),
- Even games that aren't THAT bad, like just have that, 'you can only do x thing on this day so go through the cycle of week and come back' concept.
- Demon Boy Saga
- Take Over
- Others like it such as Glassix have that 'sandbox' 'trainer' like vibe to them.
- A Town Uncovered while good has that issue too.
Bad Bobby Saga is also one of those games that would have absolutely benefited from NOT being a Sandbox game.
Also, in thinking of really good game i have played off hand, I don't think any one of them would be Sandbox games. Being a Dik, Haley's Story, My Sister My Roommate, Broken Dreamers, College Kings, Oath of Loyalty, Waifu Academy, Become a Rockstar, Sisterly Lust, Halfway House, Family Man, Mid Life Crisis, Family Affair, Friends in Need etc etc. I would prefer to play ANY of those before a Sandbox game. Though Desert Stalker is more of a VN then a Sandbox, and note - Summertime Saga is one of the exceptions of a decent SandBox that wasn't terrible despite a little grind and had alot of good sex scenes. Lust Theory is really good too with its groundhogs day vibe when you remove the Ads and well before Season 2 too.
