Ren'py of course. I hate RPM and Unity for AVNs.

I've never even heard of VaM.
VaM or Virt-A-Mate. one example of it is Never Meet Your Heroes game. But as someone said earlier, its not a game engine but its specifically used for graphics. play it, pretty grindy but still good. the size is pretty damn big though, 15gb.

Unity, seems to have the most unique and inspired games coming out of it. RenPy is 2nd, when it's done right you can have some pretty phenomenal results. UE is full of too many recognizable assets pulled from the store page, kinda gets old. There are some exceptions, the Tails of Azeroth series is one of my favorites and that's UE.
Thanks, I might try it.

If you mean the Tails of Azeroth games, few tips... some of the earlier ones could crash or bug easily. Look for walk throughs, and on any that support saving, save often.

Renpy, Simple controls and settings for all games. I hate RPGM. Unity and Unreal can be good as long as they put some thought in controls (like a rollback option).

Renpy is the most convienent and useful -- especially if devs don't muck around with the visuals, and don't take out Quicksave.

The worst thing I've seen done with Renpy is devs who take out rollback for choices and quicksave.

Unity very frequently doesn't do rollback at all, and no quicksaves.

Also. I'd like my game UI to be comfortable and fast to use, thank you very much, the UI having bawling unicorns is not needed.

Ren’py for me, although I used to have fun with the html games, twine is it?

RenPy - Unity - VaM all have different strengths and weaknesses.

But I can't understand why anyone would create RPGM games. Nostalgia? I very often give the games a wide berth.

sometimes im in the mood for rpgm games those times are few and far between

Really? can you give some VaM games? Lolis, incest etc.
A game/VN I've been enjoying recently is Rational Chaos. Also, look for videos by Rainbow Brite (no games yet, sadly) and "The Confessions of Naughty Laura" by Billybethyname (just a series of videos as well). I wish I could think of some more games off the top of my head.

Ren'py for sure. The roll back, skip features, and easy-ish modding are so hard to find in other engines. RPGM is a hard no for me

Ren'py, but im waiting for someone to put something really good together with unity.
