I don't mind either way. A sex scene early on is a good way for a quick fap and can give a feeling on how the lewdness will play out in the game.
But if the character really don't have any relevance whatsoever, maybe it's a waste of resources, and the dev shou've spent more time posing, rendering etc. scenes that would matter.

Totally agree here, a quick sex scene can show the potential of the game but if it doesn't matter in the long run then it's a waste

So long as the side character is an actual developed character it is fine and can provide depth to the game and even make it overall better. But if it just some random character you never see again than it isn't much better than the stupid 'dream' or 'fantasy' sections that get put in instead - just slop so they can get the game out earlier without complaints about no sex in the early game.

I just had a thought about this. I've seen games where the MC is corrupting his family and eventually pulls in his GF for a threesome with his sister or something like that. But what if it went the other way, what if the MC's GF started corrupting HIM because SHE wants the threesome (or more) with the MC's sister, what if THAT was the trigger for getting the MC to start seeing his family as new LI's?

I think if a game used this story Idea it'd be able to have an early lewd scene with the GF while the family is slowly being corrupted. I think I would prefer to play from the BF/Brother/Son perspective where MC's GF is the one doing the corrupting initially (MC could either be reluctant to the idea, or really into it), but I could see a story being built around the GF's perspective of "corrupting" families being a kink of hers.

Anyways, just something I don't think I've seen explored in any games before.

I care more about what the girls look like. I can't understand why there are so many ugly girls in these games, tattooed, pierced, colored, shaved, or short haired girls are UGLY, and so are the ones with watermelons growing off their chests. Anything that isn't natural besides makeup and a single earring in each ear turns me off, along with condoms and any mention of birth control.

I also care more about incest than getting every girl for myself, if there is another brother and sister duo in the story, I find it much hotter for them to get together than for me to take the sister away from him. Unfortunately, NTR haters have removed this ability from most games. The first AVN I ever played was Sisterly Lust, and you had the choice of letting your friend have his sister instead of claiming her yourself. That game had so many of my favorite kinks in it: Incest, watersports, petites, harem, impregnation, marrying your entire family, and so many ways to play through.

Usually fine, depending on the game. In my experience most games have side girls go first assuming they have any, and slowly build up to incest throughout. It can be frustrating if incest is the main interest you have, but generally I don't mind it coming a little later so long as I get to it before I get to the "End of current update" screen.

when the side character is a part of the story i like it. Like if you play as a sibling char and the side char is the BF/GF so there is some drama when the incest happens. If it is just some rando hoe you find in the subway that you never see again i feel its just waisted developer time that could be used on the main love intrest

I think like most people here that it depends on how well it is done. If it is a random throwaway character with no real impact, then its a waste of resources with the only benefits being a cheap fap and to see how the maker handles scenes in general. If it is with a side character that is however fleshed out or stays important to the plot then 100% on board since that would fit in better.

I think a side character is good to establish early on, but all in all, it's important to have a scene early on, regardless of who it's with.
