Personally, I would say that a random/side relationship is not the best way to go.

The time used to create a character that has no purpose other than one (or two) small scenes seems like a waste. It would be better to spend the effort either moving the incest story forward without them or creating someone that will be a part of the larger story. An example would be a wife or girlfriend that becomes part of a larger group, being included as 'family' when the game is completed.

I guess if the incest is NOT the focus, then it's not quite as bad. However, if the incest is going to be the 'side' story, then why bother putting effort into a long corruption of family just to ignore it later.

Hmm, I guess I would say NO to an event that ONLY exists for a quick sex scene and doesn't really have any meaning. Yes, the first sex scene may take longer to reach, but in the end the story will be better.

If it's not just a throw away character then I don't mind. I do want some kind of sexual action early but I don't mind not getting into the primary LI right away.
I also prefer if the "Side Character" is also a primary LI such as an established GF or such and is into the incest kink where they end up helping out the MC to hook up and/or bring their family into it.

I'm not against throw away characters in principle but it seems a waste for a dev to put in the work for them as a one off when they can be something more to make the initial investment into introducing them worth it more.

The side girl is there to bridge you while the main girl is being broken in. It is possible to write a corruption story that doesn't have a temp side girl but, its more difficult to pull off without feeling rushed/fake. That said it's a writing tool and all tools are able to be abused which, I assume, is the reason for this thread.

Some developer abused their tool.

I think it detracts from the incest when there are other love interests involved. I'm guessing there is a want for those who only want the focus of the LI to be between the two related individuals.

I've only made 2 games on the subject. Both only involve the related love interest. For example, one game was a cousin on cousin romance game. In which the older male cousin becomes romantically involved with his younger female cousin who happens to be a tomboy.

The other is between older brother (Derek) and younger sister (Darcy). I even designed the brother and sister to look more related to each other. Both have that gothic inspired look.

For me it depends on what the game is going for. Like just a recently "finished" example for me is Chasing Sunsets. There are clearly girls at the start of the game that the devs had no desire to actually have anything meaningful with to "tide" players over until the main girls (sister) had action.

All it ended up doing is getting people pissed off at the end of the game when all those side girls were just dropped off the face of the earth and ditched story wise and never got proper closure to there content.

That game is 100% peak incest game for me, Jaye (the sister) is hot as fuck and the scenes with her are really good but outside of one other girl everyone else just fell flat which led to a, imo bad, ending. The side girls and stories for them objectively made the game worse.

If the side girl (or outsider girl) is an LI that you keep, then that's fine. I Don't much care for throwaway characters though.

I hate when developers do this. All I ever want in an incest game is the mom, and she's always, ALWAYS sidelined for some side bitch. Be it the sister, an aunt, a girlfriend or whoever. You can save the best for last, but don't waste our time building up all your harem shit that's going to inevitably leave your game unfinished.

This is one of those subjects where it's almost impossible to please everyone. If its side char sex, some people complain because its not what they wanted. Release your game with no sex and different people complain about no action, slow burn etc etc. immediate sex with a main char? yet another set complain about lack of build up, how everyone instantly jumps on MC's magical dick etc. I feel like no matter what you do as a dev you are bound to piss off somebody

There NEEDS to be a reason for the first sex scene. Whether it's a girlfriend or some other situation. For myself I do not NEED a game to have sex from the start, but events that lead to sex ARE important. Peeking and dreams can help, but there needs to be something more (corrupting events) that increases intimacy with the main (family) love interests.

Basically, a balance needs to be found between events that keep people's interest and the SEXY fun. This is one of those things that I would say separates the bad, good, and GREAT Devs. The better the build-up is handled the better the pay-off.

For myself I would say that including Sexy Fun needs to fit with the story. If it is just included to be there, it can be as bad or worse than delaying it. Sadly, delaying can get out of hand as well. Too often things get delayed for an excessive amount of time and the milking begins.

Sexy fun does NOT need to be part of the first or (depending upon the story) fifth release. Progress TOWARDS the first SEXY fun DOES need to be a part of most if not ALL updates.

IMO, the best incest scenarios happen because there are no other options. Stuck at home during quarantine, sharing a prison cell, trapped on a deserted island, post-apocalyptic world where most of humanity has been wiped out. These are situations where sexual tension escalates to an epic fuck. But no, every story has to be a harem that ignores the law of diminishing returns.
