Mine is The Shawshank Redemption. It's an absolute masterpiece with an incredible story, great acting, and a powerful message about hope, friendship, and never giving up, even when life seems impossible. I love how the story develops and how everything comes together in the end. It's one of those movies that stays with you long after the credits roll, and I can understand why so many people consider it one of the greatest films of all time.

What is considered the criterion for classification as a classic? For example, the films of the 90s for me are quite modern cinema. The border probably runs in 1960 or 1950. Then please:
Roman Holiday (1953)
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948)
The Shawshank Redemption is very good, but it's not very old yet. And I have one complaint - why was Morgan Freeman chosen for the role of the red-haired Irishman?

Early inclusivity, I guess! 😂 They went for diversity before it became a trend

What era do we count as a classic?
Terminator 2: Judgement Day from 1991 came to mind at first. But the original Blade Runner from -82 is a nice movie as well.

Shawshank is a great choice and I'd have to agree.

I would say Goodfellas or A Bronx Tale. It used to be Shawshank Redemption as I've seen many here say and I do still hold it dear to heart.

The first Alien movie! I also enjoyed the ones with the engineers, was hoping the finished the trilogy but the last one was cancelled :(

Original Star wars trilogy is great. Empire strikes back specifically if we're only going with one.

Battleship potemkin is really good, so is war and peace. Soviet movie department was smoking something divine while creating those.
