  • Donation Rewards & Vault Credit System Update
A new important update has been posted covering the Donation Rewards bug, the reset of incorrect Donation and Platinum credits, the upcoming reclaim system for previous tracked donations, and the new Vault freeze/maintenance behavior. The goal is to remove bug-generated credits, protect real donation history, and rebuild the system in a cleaner and safer way going forward. - Jack Of Blades

What would a dev have to do in a new update to make you stop playing a really good game?

There isn't much. This is probably the closest to making my care less and less, but it also depends on how much the models change. Any change will me me care less about keeping up with it, but i'll probably never drop it.
Let's just say that.. if a game used to be found in LC's restricted zone, but an update makes it .. ''suitable for Fuck95'' .. that's a pretty big indication that i'm no longer interested. :)

And in general, if over time the quality of the updates just goes down the drain; story gets lame, repetative or boring, or the scenes become cookie cutter. You can notice that the care is out of if basically.

There are some in the past i supported and then they changed the content to be safer, and while I understand their reasons, it has also made me never want to support one again til it's done. However, I would still end up playing the revamped version unless they ended up with stupid large boobs or some such.

too much violence, especially against women or girls. not really into that

He would have to completely break a good character in a way that i just don't feel like playing anymore

Start asking for money, going the route of ntr, never keep up with roadmap.

Adding sandbox where it wasn't before - as was now done in Freshwomen - is one way.

unexpected and near nessesary for progressiong min-games (ala fishing in treasure of nadia) NTR or suprise politics

I think the communal answer seems to be "Unexpected drastic changes". People try out a game cause they think it'll appeal to them based on how it's advertised, whether tags/screenshots/reviews/etc. If they've invested into a game and a new update turns it into a different game, that can really suck. Especially if it turns into a game they wouldn't have started to play in the first place. This can kill AAA flagship series or little amateur smutty hobby games. You don't always have to give the audience what they want or play to every audience. But you have to give the audience something digestible. If you want to explore new ideas, start a new game to do it with. If you want a game that changes, set that up from the beginning CLEARLY so people know what they're getting into. If I get on a merry go round and after two spins, it suddenly becomes a roller-coaster, I'm not gonna be happy. That's not the ride I signed up for.

This happened recently with a game I enjoyed, as while the renders were great, I will admit that previous updates had made me slowly lose interest due to the main plot not really going anywhere. For the update that made me (and many others) drop the game, the dev decided to do 3 major things
  1. Go hard on AI, overhauling a good chunk of the DAZ animations with AI, with the looks of characters potentially changing from scene to scene, adding AI-generated assets, like posters, into scenes, and overhauling the dialogue with AI as well (with some of this dialogue discussing the contents of said AI posters).
  2. Lock the fast-forward button until the player had made 1 full playthrough of the game, even though said release didn't really add any new content
  3. Locked down the game to prevent pretty much any kind of mod from being used (including those made to get around issue #2)
