Mine was I think Dark Magic. I did play other games back then but unsure if they were renpy. I used to get them from lenov.ru and yea, they we're ported to android, I don't really play that much on PC.

Katawa Shoujo was the first Renpy game I played... The Feels! The naughty bits are good but the feels are next level.

I didn't know what renpy was until recently actually it just happens to be one. I played right after it came out.

Katawa Shoujo. I played it more than 10 years ago. At that time I didn't even know western adult visual novels were a thing (and maybe still weren't).
Years later and I found out about these other games, but I don't know which one was the first. Summertime Saga or Parental Love, perhaps?

Been thinking about looking or creating a thread for actual first one I played. It was a grindy one with MC, his mother and his sister living together and I remember something about a bar being on the map and the apartment they lived in only had two bedrooms, living room, and hallway rendered. I came across that horrible game site I can't even remember the name of either and played that. I've always been Android only in this world so it definitely has a port...

I think the first one I have played, was Sisterly lust, after I spend a couple of years playing only Japanese VNs, I discovered it by chance don't even member where, and what I liked the most about it was its shift toward more western interactions between the characters since I had only been playing Japanese games for a good while and the incest.

Katawa Shoujo was my first VN. I went into it expecting porn first and foremost, and got actual characterization and plot! Still porn of course, and it's old enough that a lot of the effects it used like moving the character portraits around aren't something I see anymore, so it shows its age even with the HD patch to make it not PotatoVision on modern systems. The writing quality... varied a lot - I remember the deaf LI's plotline seeming incredibly contrived in terms of when the MC could follow a conversation and when he couldn't... The soundtrack though! Maybe it's just that it was formative, but I learned to play Three Stars on the piano. Overall, still worth playing IMO! My impression is that it did a lot to popularize VNs in the west.
