What was your high school status? What’s one pro and one con of that role? If you relate to more than one, pick the one that fits you best.
Best of both worlds. Are jocks and nerds fundamentally different, or are they actually more similar in some ways?I played sports, so I mostly hung out with the jocks during school. But, when I wasn't in school, all my friends where gamers/nerds.
Most of the jocks were also gamers, they just didn't talk about it in public as much. They still went home and played Fallout or whatever was popular at the time. The nerds just had more niche hobbies. Both groups were pretty chill and never really had anything against each other.Best of both worlds. You had a pretty colorful high school life. Do you ever miss it?I was a drifter, but actually I was friends with pretty much everyone. My immediate friends were the pot heads and the goth-lite kids [although I didn't and still do not smoke]. I was in art all 4 years and theater my final year. I played sports all 4 years [multiple the first 3 years], so I was friends with all the sports guys and would still go to games even after I stopped playing football. My grades were good. I was a library assistant for a year and would hang out there at least once a week after school was out. I got sent to the office frequently and even got ISS my junior year [because of one teacher in particular]. thankfully tho the principal was my neighbor and knew me pretty well, and actually believed me when I explained that the teacher straight up did not like me. I was a teachers pet [to the theater teacher]. Sat in the back of class to pass notes and make mischief when I could, satfront row for the few cases I struggled with a subject. Got voted 'Most Sarcastic' for the student yearbook, and apparantly it wasn't even close according the the year book group. Definitely played video games.
I didn't touch student council, and even tho I enjoyed art class and my art projects where good, my sketchbook doodles absolutely sucked. Wasn't much in to anime back then [or even now tbh] outside of whatever Toonami and Adult Swim would air. And band was for nerds.
There are few setups in life that can match the sheer breadth of social diversity mixed with both free time and things to do as high school and college. I miss the people and all the things we had the opportunity to do, which was a by product of high school [and college], but I don't miss the high school life itself, no.You had a pretty colorful high school life. Do you ever miss it?
I'd say loner is closest to how I feel looking back. I made a few friends but it was hard for me to do because I was a shy, awkward weirdo.
