CodeMikko is interesting when she explains the tech/method to create her character and environments. Most of them, I can certainly understand the appeal. The performers can toe the line on nudity/exposure/innuendo without as much risk of TOS violations, or actually exposing themselves. While at the same time, not having to necessarily be as attractive as their characters. The safety factor is also, I should think, a major selling point. Without your actual name/face out there, cuts down on the creepers immensely.

The are streamer and youtuber with virtual or animated Avatars. There also VTweeters who everyone hates, they are self style Virtual Youtuber who used there status as "Vtuber" to virtual signal and talk politics on twitter and make little to no actual videos. They are usually causing drama and giving a bad name to Vtubers.

Most of them are normal and are from other countries so they don't talk about politics or virtual signal. It usually the western indie ones that are crazy and political, that why VTweeter and Twitters crazy been trying to cancel most Vtubers sense it harder to dox them with their Virtual Avatars.
