What non-sexual stuff makes you quit a porn game?

I don't mind some grinding, but when the tasks are too long and you're just doing the exact same thing over and over and then there's no progression I get bored and quit. If you don't respect my time I'm not gonna play your game.

Also when games get too depressing, not just a little dark, but full on misery engines.

It's the dialogue for me. I say this with love, but there are some devs/writers who clearly don't spend enough time talking to women. Sometimes I get second hand embarrassment reading through the dialogues >.<
Also, the "inner monologue" scenes, where the MC just goes on and on about stuff. I'm a reader, I like reading, but even for me it's too much sometimes.

Like many others in this thread, I'm another that is often put off by the language and dialogue.

I accept that English isn't always the Dev's first language but sometimes the bad translations make a game very hard to follow or get into. Some Devs also go the complete opposite way and I've played more than one game where it seemed like the Dev was trying to be remembered as the next Shakespere and show off their vocabulary, which also just took the enjoyment out of the game as I felt like I was in English class.

The way the characters talk or speak to others, sometimes bother me too. There is one game in particular I have in mind that I tried playing a number of times and just can't get past the awful (inner)dialogue and the stupid "hehehe" every other line. I even started editing a lot of it using the Universal Ren'py Mod but it still became too much work to even follow the story.

Finally on a different tangent, I dislike it when games start to lose the story that was enjoyable to become nothing but moving from scene to scene having a new sex scene with each of the LI's, when this starts to happen i start losing interest and if it doesn't stop i normally stop playing.

Ridiculous and weird body or face proportions, when the MC is an asshole or violent towards LIs and terrible writing or too many spelling and grammar mistakes. Might be some more things as well, but if I see any of that I'm out.

Gotta hate the mad grind, like did I come here to grind like in RS or to goon.

1.grind and sandbox
2.whiny weak MC
3.extremely unrealistic proportions

  • When I’m not given options — it feels like I’m just reading, not playing.
  • Unlikeable female MC.
  • Bad UI.
  • Eternal loading times.

i hate is when there is just no story. or when the girls just throow themselves at the mc with no reason

visual novel that you just watch the story happen without being able to change anything, I like being able to have several paths in the story

Grinding for the most part, but also when the sex is completely secondary to the game and the whole thing is clearly just a dev's attempt at making a completely different story with sex slapped onto it.

I'm not sure I have quit it for good, but I kinda fell off Star Knightress Aura because the quests I'm at have no connection to corruption, so I don't feel the gameplay reflects the sexual journey the MC is supposed to be going through at all.

I don't really like it when the porn part of the games seem completely separate from the rest. For example, one of my favorite H games is Apostle, but it's just budget Persona with porn - I think there's even a version without sex scenes, and I have no doubt the entire game will work without a hitch, which bothers me a bit.

Another thing I recently complained in another thread is life sim games. You know, games that penalize you for not eating, drinking and sleeping. I can get behind rent if there's a sexual way to pay or lower it, but overall, most daily life necessities make the gameplay loop more boring, not more fun. The Company manages to simulate the daily life of a worker (in a bizarre situation, I give you that) without making you deal with too much of the boring stuff.
For me its bad graphics (not realistic), or fat girls, or too busty women, or no animation or voice to go with the graphics.

There is also something to creativity in design, like there are so many derivative concepts that get rinsed and repeated with the same models. I guess that's part and parcel of bad writing too.

definitely the grind. i'm ok with little grind especially if i know how long to do it and how easy it is but if the grind seems aimless i drop it and look for a gallery mode

the worst games i played that had unexplained grind was Foot of the Mountain and Jen's Dilemma.
