What non-sexual stuff makes you quit a porn game?

I think in a porn game almost anything that is not porn needs to have a good reason to be there. If there's a lot of other game elements they should at least be somewhat entertaining, if there is a lot of story than that story better be worthwhile. If it's not good on its own, it should be removed. No point in playing a bad or mediocre game with a few porn elements. In most cases it's better to just focus on the porn.

when the plot goes completely off the rails out of nowhere or keeps jumping the shark every five minutes, looking at you 23 sisters

When progression start to devolve into busywork.

Worst are these sandbox games where you have to navigate the entire world node by node and there is no, or little, shortcuts you can take and you have to hunt for each to progress some quest.

And I actually like point and click adventures, like the actual clasical ones.
But the Authors don't seem to understand what makes a point and click adventure work, and just take the pointing and clicking from them.

Also RPGM, where you usually have to navigate the entire world, often without any hints where to go, to find the one character to progress the story.

I completely lose interest in a game if the characters in it aren't engaged in the premise.
There's no way for me to invest myself in a game if the characters constantly make 4th wall breaking references, like 2 year old memes, current day cultural talking points, or making sarcastic remarks about current in-game plot points.

really, really awful phrasing/typos/grammar errors. i have a tendency to read pretty fast but everytime i see a typo, i get hung up on it. also, unreasonable grinding and unnecessary sandbox mechanics that are time based for no reason.

ex: "you have to talk to x at y during <one of three times of day> on this day." just like, why?

i agree wholeheartedly here

Mechanics like: crazy grind, roguelike elements of losing all progress, card battles, obnoxious slow movement, or inability to free save your game.
Thematic for me is the robot girlfriend, never got the thing for robots that can just be copied endlessly and run on program instead of feelings. Even big games like Nier and Stellar Blade ruin my suspension of disbelief.
The typical fem protagonist + you have to lose battles to see content also is a major turn off, specially if losing means also losing progress or spiraling into a unavoidable bad gameplay vicious cycle.

Agreed with many before me, terrible grammar with tons of mistakes or just straight up broken English will make me delete a story immediately.

If you have to navigate, and it is done in an annoying manner, I dip. I really don't wanna click a million arrows to get around a house, or struggle to even find / see the nav icons sometimes.

Usually its just if i cant vibe with the art style, and even then that bar is very low. but other than that I'd have to say it depends if the "story" isn't too over bearing. sometimes they just drag on and wont let the game like.. HAPPEN, ya know? I get can get past that though if the art or even just the angles captured during sex are done well enough. Also multi angled sex scenes are under utilized. just throwing that out there lul

Old saves not working once it's a while worth of time in.

I'm not sure I have quit it for good, but I kinda fell off Star Knightress Aura because the quests I'm at have no connection to corruption, so I don't feel the gameplay reflects the sexual journey the MC is supposed to be going through at all.

I don't really like it when the porn part of the games seem completely separate from the rest. For example, one of my favorite H games is Apostle, but it's just budget Persona with porn - I think there's even a version without sex scenes, and I have no doubt the entire game will work without a hitch, which bothers me a bit.

Another thing I recently complained in another thread is life sim games. You know, games that penalize you for not eating, drinking and sleeping. I can get behind rent if there's a sexual way to pay or lower it, but overall, most daily life necessities make the gameplay loop more boring, not more fun. The Company manages to simulate the daily life of a worker (in a bizarre situation, I give you that) without making you deal with too much of the boring stuff.
I dig the art of some adult games on Steam, but to "gameify" things you end up in ridiculous grinds for resources which just kill the vibe.

When the characters facial expressions do not reflect what is going on.....I mean c'mon! Dude is having an orgasm and he is just like 😐

!. Too much grinding
but the absolute worst for me is Terrible mini games/puzzles that you are forced to do to progress.
