What non-sexual stuff makes you quit a porn game?

Maps. I have problems with maps. Large maps. Especially large maps in RPGM games. I have a very bad sense of direction.
RPGM at all. It's horrible. They almost all use default map graphics which are bad by 1980s standards. Also have a bad sense of direction and having to navigate = unplayable.

RPGM, Unity or mimes. I hate mimes.

When it is trigger hunting.

If the only way to unlock blowjobs is being wearing a blue suit in the middle of the night singing cumbaia to nightmerrie before christmass then the dev has is just trolling.
Luckly games like this is rare.

Likewise i hate timewasters.
Earning my sex is fun.
It makes me feel like i won because of my efforts.
Having to do the same action 50 times to unlock the next sex scene is not.

If a girl need lets say 50 lust to ride my cock and i am given several ways to get her to 50 lust it is gameplay.
If i have to give her ramman 50 times to make her right my cock it is wasting my time.

convoluted choices or actions to get hidden content that makes zero sense to do

where you have to do the same bs over and over and over again to raise stats just to unlock one scene and then go back to do the same bs again and again, mob battles in rpgm

Poor writing, art, and grindy mechanics are probably the main things, for me.

Probably written before hundreds of times but sandbox games make me rage quit fast...I just can't stand them.

The second thing that bothers me is when developers add grindy mechanics that require you to waste hours just to see one scene.

There are a couple things that make me lose interest in a game.
1: there's a lot of "bimbofication" moments in various games, but i rarely ever see a "Lose weight" or "make a muscle mommy" kinda thing. if I want a woman whose body at least resembles a real woman, I am shit out of luck. so when I play a game and I see all the models are just big tittied sex dolls, I lose interest. it takes zero effort to give their body some character.

2: Grind. look, I love spending time in a game and working for my smut, but my grind better INVOLVE the smut. I hate when grind is like "Go make some drinks" or "collect fur". It's fine if it's meant to be a very short grind. But if a smut game is telling me to spend 15 minutes playing minigames, so I can get 2 minutes of smut, I lose interest fast. I'd rather the effort that went into programming those minigames and stuff, be put into making newer animations.

3: waaaaay too much dialogue. I'm not talking about a game having depth. I mean when 99% of the game is just dialogue, and there is little to no smut to be found. I don't mind character building. in fact, I think balancing the worldbuilding and motivations of characters between the actual sexual content is an art, but I would rather things err on the side of more smut. i feel like a lot of game devs are overcomplicating things these days. idc about plot holes. you can fill them in with bs later. I want the good stuff. too many games have story arcs where the MC has to fight some demons, or defend their mom, or whatever, and it has little to nothing to do with sex or developing sexual interactions with other characters. it doesn't need to be that deep. I'm not saying to make EVERYTHING shallow, but god, some games really overdo it.

Grindy games
some are fine if that game is really good and has my interest but that is rare
Kinda sexual to some but also Feet, feet are gross to me and drop games that do too much of it

yea i agree like if its a rpg game then grinding makes sense but random rpg elements that aren't fun suck i get some games need to be repetitive to pad time and flow of events like a slow build but most add crazy huge requirements just to pad out game time

I second that.
I can appreciate sandbox IF and only IF they respect your time and aren't bloated with bullshit timesinks and useless mechanics

Ditto.

Also, in general RPGM. Some I played were nice, but the majority were a pain in the arse

Politics. There's some games where it seems that author wanted to include the part about some "crazy lefties" usually (as in right wing complaints) that are oddly specific

The reason why I have mostly quit Japanese visual novels is the amount of inane, pointless, filler dialogue you have to dredge through in order to get to the sexual content. And I'm not talking about important story stuff. I mean characters going into autistic detail about the food they're eating or whatever routine chore they're doing. Typical slice-of-life stuff, but the problem is that a lot of eroges being localized nowadays are slice-of-life. It's easier to market and sell than the more subversive games that often go untranslated.

But that's not exclusive to Japanese VNs, of course. A lot of western VNs take you on the thrilling journey of waking up, taking a shower, brushing your teeth, eating breakfast, yada yada. Every. Single. Day. A lot of these games seem allergic to short timeskips like "Later that afternoon." The author just has to write the whole daily routine like a ritual while following the "Day 1, Day 2, Day 3" formula.

I mostly play VNs, sure, but when it comes to "actual" games, I'm going to echo the sentiment of sex scenes being disconnected from the story. A lot of Japanese games do that because they also want to sell a PG12 version of the game for some reason. But it also happens in western games, like Subverse, for example. Seriously, if the porn is just going to be some pointless eye candy that has no bearing on the story, I'd prefer to just watch porn on my browser or look at the game's CG Rip.

i can deal with a ton of stuff like grinds, tons of text, and even minigame spam but the thing that REALLY annoys me is poor translation/machine translation. It makes everything feel soooo stiff and awkward i just cant get past it at all. Nothing is more disappointing than finding an interesting game only to immediately tell it's not well translated and ya just have to shelf it and pray someone makes a better translation.

100% bad writing and most sandbox games. Bad writing as in laziness, for example most times characters have no choice to do something, you the reader can easily find a way out.

If I wanted to track hunger and sleep bars, I’d just play The Sims 😂

The cum meter in Agent17 made me want to quit so bad

visual novel that is an actual novel in text length, I get bored after awhile
