Beside the genre tags such as NTR, what make you pass the game(s) from looking at previews?
For example, Honey Select models, style of 2D drawing, game play, puzzles, bad/poor rendering quality, etc...

I would have to go with the outrageous proportions as well

Bad art mostly.
Censorship is always a turn off.
Old RPGM unable to resize window.
Boring content.
Lack of content.

Bad art- I'm not automatically opposed to any specific kind of render but no matter what you're using there's good renders and bad ones.

Bad writing 1- English that's poor to the point of incomprehensible.

Bad writing 2- grammar's technically accurate but the whole thing comes across like a middle schooler's first fanfic.

Bad UI- especially for a sandbox game, if the screenshots look like a confusing mess of buttons.

Bad premise- utterly generic with nothing actually interesting about it

Bad overview- Either nothing at all, or a lot of crufty meaningless slop about how great the game is without actually saying anything about what it's actually about.

Bad writing where the MC is a god, can fuck 40 times a day, no man is a physical match, always the smartest, etc etc. Get creative, writers, make a good game, not just a boring porn. Also, to my own shame, female protag. I just can't get into it playing as a woman, that's my fail though.

outrageous proportions
I'm always amazed how popular these games seem to be. There's few things that turn me away faster than impossibly massive boobs that look really stupid. Lots of games that seem like they'd have potential if the models didn't look so stupid.

Japanese graphics (HS and HS2 included), certain tags (as an example - furry, trap, sissfication, real porn etc.). And even if the graphics and tags are fine, good, serious reviews of a particular game help to make a choice. Although sometimes you can make a mistake. For example, some very popular VNs and games (Grandm's House, Taffy Tales, Summertime Saga, Reunion, Love and Sex Second Base) were sent to the trash at one stage or another. But it taught me never to trust various lists like Top 200. So only practice can act as a criterion of truth.

Censoring too much grinding or irritating mini games some mini games are ok but they should be easy in an h game.

Apart from NTR, I'm almost always willing to give a game a chance. I do agree with others above that censoring and heavy grinds can put me off after some time.

Shit story, ugly faces, leathery skin, etc.

Also, pay-walled content that cripples the game.

Almost same.

I just seem to be unable to enjoy games were the characters look like they are from an anime. Haren Hotel is a pretty high rated game but the optic just isn't for me.

Hardcore femdom that includes slavery, torture, objectification. And futa protag games.

Besides the fetishes that I'm not interested into, it's mostly games that are Kinetic Novels. I don't like KNs, where I'm not given an option to decide on how my character interacts or the freedom to choose which route the story goes for the game.

I'm pretty fine with most fetishes, depending on the gameplay or how the story is captivating to me. Even if the game isn't a KN, I'll skip it if it contains too much exposition that is boring or annoying.

reasonable, but i think some of them and are rare, are pretty good.

MC's that willfully visits violence on children, pets or the elderly. Makes them automatically unrelatable.
Gore of any sort.
Body modifications or extreme proportions are a big turn off.
Magic Penis plots are a turn off, but not an automatic skip.
Poor story development.
Poor art (Doesn't have to be realistic 3D, just well done. I like pixelated art if done well.)

I will don't disagree on that but I still prefer the freedom on how I play, deciding where the story goes and the deciding the fate of the characters. Similar to RPG games like say Mass Effect or Fallout where I choose to act either as a good guy or a plain asshole while exploring the alternate interactions or storylines that can't be repeated in a single walkthrough.

Facts, it's just that i played one not long ago and it was decent, i kinda liked it, but it's just like reading a story book, still nothing beats a good'ol VN tbh.
