That depend as Football to me is the NFL in the US and not a team just kicking a ball.

You must be registered to see media

Anyway I've been a Chicago Bears fan all my life. Even when I moved out of the state.

Also, American football is not a real sport.
Watching a game for 4 hours and having actual 12 minutes of playing time...
YES, BvB! Since I was a kid... The yellow wall is the place to be!
You try getting run into by a 350 lb guy running full speed...
Well at least do it the rugby way, without protection and even the Americans seem to have forgotten how to play it if they can't win against Japan :D

I'll gladly watch a NFL game over a soccer match which is more boring to me.

Anyway at the game it's fun and time flyby it's just boring watching it on TV. 🤷‍♂️

Liverpool
You'll Never Walk Alone
As Dortmund Fan, we do have a thing in common, we still grief over Klopp leaving...

Manchester united. I've been a fan my entire life. My late grandpa made me a fan of them.

Gonna rereply and say that my last comment was in no way supposed to be read as angry or attacking, just that my impression of people watching sportsballs is like the commercials where a bunch of people gather around food and chips and jump around and shout at the tv and throw stuff and food whenever something happens, and as a lurker, that isn't my scene, and I apologize if my comment sounded negative.
Yeah, that's fair. But honestly you just described anything people are fans of. You can get similar reactions from political rallies, award shows, religious festivals, concerts, you name it. Point is something people are interested in is happening so excitement follows.
I don't think you came across as attacking, I was just saying I don't think there's anything mysterious about sports (or other) fandoms.

don't get how anyone can care for multimillionaires playing sports
I think you might have it backwards, people don't care because they are millionaires, they are millionaires because people care. (For example college sports in the United States is actually bigger than pro sports in a lot of areas, and those are just kids with no real salary at all, just scholarships.)
Let me put it this way-- if you put a camera on me and broadcast around the world, I can't think of ANYTHING that I could do that would make millions of people want to watch. I just don't have any interesting skills. But being able to do something that is relatable (playing a game we are all at least familiar with and probably played some as kids) on an incredible level is interesting enough that people *do* watch. They get paid because they can entertain in a big way. They DO have the ability to keep a million people tuned in when the cameras come on. And that's an economically valuable skill.

My point wasn't about people caring for their money. It was about the game itself and the players, which are in many cases idolized.

There isn't one. I just don't like soccer. That applies equally to football (soccer) and American football.

Really like the international competitions where the teams represent their home country and typically, therefore, are made up of the best players out there.
