For me it's about the skill on display. I agree about soccer, dull as dishwater. But I follow Aussie Rules football, which is more like a cross between the best bits of all the other football codes, then turned up to 11. Amazing athletes doing amazing things every game - full contact, no armour, high scoring, running and jumping at Olympic levels. It's amazingly fun to watch.
