The writing, mechanics, and fetishes have to appeal to me very well for me to actually try it. Basically, if I'd like it without pictures, I'd probably still enjoy it with pictures, even if they tend to take me out of it a bit otherwise. Small Town and My Oblivious Milf are two examples I can think of off the top of me head, though I think there have been others.

I know they are usually grindy sandbox games, but I find myself playing them from time to time if they catch my eye, just for a couple of hours tho.
I remember finding one I really liked but I don't remember it since it was a while ago, it wasn't a sandboxgame tho.

Depends on how grindy they are, a lot of them can have a pretty good selection of scenes, but they can get pretty tedious depending on the gameplay

The problem is that the game developer usually doesn't say "OK, I have these images of <some porn actress> doing <this stuff>, so I need to write the story around that." Instead they write whatever they think makes for a good story, but since they don't have images for that exact stuff you end up with this total mismatch where the images just don't match the text, or the same character is displayed as different actresses, etc.
If you're going to do a Real Porn game, then you gotta accept that you can't have lots of branches, you're going to have to railroad the story some to fit the assets available.
The exception would be guys like SelectaCorp, who actually hire models to do shoots for some of their games.

Like a lot of people, the lack of consistency across models being used for the same character is a problem. Oh, and the clothes changing in mid scene. Yikes. But I think a part of my gripe is the poor interface you get with Twine (out of the box), which is the go-to system for real porn games. That problem is part of why I don't like it.

The fact that they even set up a crowd sourcing platform when all they do is just reuse everything from the porn they use it from.. Pretty lazy so no I don't like those.

Well. I've always liked the idea of watching porn and being able to select the next events that will happen as if it were a game (I know there's actually a service like this, but it's paid). HTML just uses random images and gifs without really any connection, which really screws up the experience because of the lack of coherence.

Maybe AI in the near future can help improve this kind of experience.

My biggest problem with HTML games is that they usually aren't actually about having sexual encounters with HTML code. In these games HTML is just the type of coding they use to create a game on a topic that is completely irrelevant to having sex with code itself. It's not even that I want to have sex with HTML personally, as if I'm being totally honest its a markup language and i'm more into erotic experiences with actual programming languages like python or Java (there is some nasty cross-platform stuff it'd be really into with this one). I mean I would even be okay with HTML games that used real people to represent a programming language similar to the show Reboot, even though this is not the ideal situation. Of course by "Reboot" I mean the seminal 1994 cg animated kids show NOT the ridiculous short lived 2022 Hulu situational comedy featuring humans portraying humans.

i've played many html games, every single one of them are just soulless, a lot of text and 1 or 2 images, just like ordinary VNs, which is really poor, it's just another idle-clicker indie trash than an actual game haha

Real porn games are the biggest wastes of time and even bigger pieces of shit. Also they don't even use niche videos and actresses. They use the most mainstream well known actress and fucking brazzers videos and then write their shitty story. Like dickhead I know this video and as bad as the acting is that story is better.

I'm not against html games in general, but I can't stand when there are photos or videos with real people. They are confusing (same character portraied by a number of different actors) and lack of personality. I'd rather prefer having a text only game, really.

It's lazy used by devs who can't render and almost always in HTML format, which sucks.

Not because of the "engine" nor the use of real porn images itself, but games like this have a 99% chance of being effortless crap.
Also, the inconsistency really annoys me. Most times every image is of different people, sometimes they don't even look alike, and we're supposed to accept they're the same character.

The use of real porn immediately indicates that the developer does not have sufficient knowledge in the field of digital graphics. The use of HTML indicates insufficient knowledge of programming.
Which leads to the idea that we are dealing with an amateur beginner who will abandon his game after a few updates.
As for real porn - maybe it's easier to watch a regular porn video?
