I definitely look up a walkthrough to make sure they're really not romanceable, but I don't get upset or anything.
I'm always glad when effort is put in to even make the background characters actual characters, even if they're not love interests.

personally I love how realm invader does it one of the fl's are into girls but they don't hit you over the head with that fact

I hate bait and switch not just in adults games but in general. I think about it in similar way like false advertising. There are so many games that sell you the idea of something but the final product is actually entirely different. When you see major character that looks great and its not fuckable in adults games I consider it as giant middle finger to me and I take that personally because the devs knows you will like the character and its either fucking with you or he just play with you idea of something and that idea is just there for you to try the game and never gonna be finalized.

Bait and switch is just stupid. Mostly happens when devs try to be edgy and can't read the room. Same with games where the MC has a hot fam but there is no incest in it.
And don't even get me started on devs killing LIs. That's just plain stupid. Devs that do that don't deserve subs and should be avoided at all cost.

It really depends their role in the game, but overall if they're of that much interest, I'd say it bugs me more often than not. Let us at em!

I may wish they were available but it doesn't bother me that they aren't. It's really not false advertising unless the dev actually said or implied that they were a love interest; if they didn't do that, just made an attractive character, then it's hardly fair to get mad at the dev over assumptions the players made. Same with an attractive family member in an incest game. You can characters in porn games who aren't part of the porn.

I remember a couple of games from years ago where the dev made the MC's mom really hot and then unfuckable, nor were they planning to make her fuckable. You had sisters who were, though, so I never understood their reasons

Most of the time it's fine, the #1 game/dev that has it is "The List by Uncle Loco" (If you've played the game: It's the twins)

It's completely fine as long as there's no imbalance between LIs and non-LIs. Like, if a LI has less character depth and detail as opposed to some non-LI side character, that's bad game design.
