I would say anything that would count as animation and not just some alternating pictures is enough for me, if the story is great

anywhere on the level of "decent" is enough for me unless the renders are top teir

Average is fine as long as the game content makes up for it, like plenty of scenes. But id overlook a fair bit for excellent animations.
