What do you guys think about "parody" games?

Parody games can be fun when they're funny. Comedy is an art so when the writer is inexperienced the jokes can fall flat. But if the porn aspect is good, then I don't care too much and can skip the dialogue

Usually meh, and too often way too cartoony.

The only parody I've played was Klee Prank Adventure. It eas good, but very limited. I'd gladly play a bigger Genshin Impact parody with more sex and interactions.

Parody games can be good since they already have a setting and established game world (and usually even the characters) so the author can focus on story... however most of the times, the parody is not very good, either not integrated with existing chars/gameworld lore or just abusing previously defined tropes of the world without expanding. It is a difficult balancing act, and most authors don't seem to be able to achieve it.

It's an off-putting tag and I don't play many of them. Makes me feel like the story is going to be cheap and not worth reading. And like others have said, it's too niche. Even if I know the source material, I don't often feel inclined to play a parody of it.

Generally hate them. Especially the lazy Koikatsu based ones that do a terrible job of replicating characters personalities. But the personality thing is my biggest issue anyway. There have been a few exceptions that don't seem bad. Mostly 2d games.

I'm not a fan of parodies, or comedies. For me, the saying is true: the worst form of entertainment is bad comedy. If the drama falls flat... well... at least you tried.

Ex: in What a Legend! [MagicNuts] you are given a bag of infinite gold! Great, right? Wrong.
No-one... not even the beggars(!)... are willing to take Gold for the Quests.
Dev (paraphrase): Isn't that funny? Dnd parody! DnD parody! Isn't that funny?
Me: No. (uninstall)

As usual, if you like parody, I hope you enjoy it. I never will.

If the art style is close to the original content and it gives you the lewd scenes you want, you'll probably like it. No matter how good the story is, for me it's always a secondary thing. And if the parody game has good mechanics and funny references to the original game, I'll keep playing it till the end.

As others have mentioned, good comedy is hard to make.
Gameplay elements aside, even if we can read english, things don't always translate that well to other countries and cultures either.

I'd love to play a good parody game but none have struck a chord with me yet. My favorite porn tends to be the comics and such based on characters I know so a well written game would be amazing.

after playing four elements trainer, i can certainly say i love em

The dev REALLY has to know how to write parody, or like others have said, it just comes off as flat and dumb.

most of the time they are straight up ass but sometimes you get a good one Like W.I.T.C.H HUNTER but those are rare
