For me it depends on consistency with the images/videos. Old RAGS games like Girl Life aren't really something I can get into anymore due to the random pics used. But something like Wife Trainer where the author was very particular about what images they used was totally fine with me. Even if I would had preferred art instead.

Same reason I fell off of HHS+ years ago, except replace real porn with completely random hentai pics.

Rael Corn just doesnt do it for me the same way a well made 2D/3D art does, i guess it comes down to how fetishized the human body tends to be in the aforementioned art.

i wish they were good. but in my experience the sex scenes often don't quite fit the game scene. also if you want a game that has a decent lenght you'll run out on porn witzh the same actors real quick.

I think Love, Corruption, and Bimbos uses real porn very well. It incorporates it into a story that would be hard to tell with regular porn, but keeping the appeal. I personally prefer real(ism) and don't like crappy/unattractive renders and art. I agree that most have the same loops and lack creativity, but the twine games that break the mold are as good as anything else imo. Games like Incubus City, Power of Will, and College Daze and (now to lesser extents now that we have AI) Lost in Laminate, Bloodshift, and X-Change Life are very good as well. So while many can be disappointing, I don't think its different from any other genre (ie the sameness of many Ren Py and NTR games). So part of it comes down to preference, but I wouldn't write them all off as lazy or poorly made, since there are gems.

one of my favorite games is a real porn game, Gaia, shame it gets kind of repetitive after around an hour or so. Small town is another good one, I really love how these games tend to lean really heavily into the idea that everyone (including family members) are just ready to fuck at a drop of a hat after you do a little work for them

I like this nuance. I feel like there's a lot of genre trope dislike here that is being applied to a whole medium. It's like people saying they'd never like anime because of x, y, or z trope. Mind you, I filter out the "real porn" porn games exactly because of those tropes; ie: same body types, static images, lazy writing etc etc. But, as you say I don't feel all of them have to be that bad. I have no need for them personally, as a lot of people have pointed out I could (and do) just watch normal porn, but it is not impossible for me to imagine one that I would enjoy a lot, and one could argue the "just watch the porn version instead of playing the game" for any of the VNs we play. In theory, you could just watch the sex scenes (and some of you do, but then that's just porn with more work). I think a story with just a bit of that extra immersion of making choices, could do wonders for my jerk sesh involving real porn. Imagine the level of effort of like, one of those korean dating sims, with like full acting, dialogue trees, etc. instead of just loosely connected images and gifs. I think I'd really enjoy that with the actresses of my preference.

That being said, I'll still probably avoid real porn games in general because of how "low" effort (or maybe it's really just a much higher effort to make one of quality) they are, but perhaps I'll get around to checking out some of the ones in this thread. This isn't really trying to change anyone's mind either, I just felt like I wanted to provide open-mindedness and nuance in a conversation I felt was generally lacking it, maybe in bleak hope that kind of attitude will carry forward to other topics.

I didn't even know they existed before playing HTML games like ReEducation Program and New Life Project. I had a blast playing them. It boils down to how good the clips are. After that im always searching for a good real porn game.
