Lots of them are text + pictures, HTML games. But there are exceptions more "ambitious" like D'Legacy and Kantoku (both use JAV)

One day, a game will come along incorporating real porn that will be fantastic. When it happens, I won't be able to enjoy the 3D games as much. I am glad I haven't come across a good real porn game yet.

The only way it would be good would be if one was made with actors/actresses specifically made for the game, and using a decent engine (NOT HTML.) Otherwise it ends up fucked up.

Just like with the current AI discussion, I could excuse real porn assets (even though they are off putting and do not blend well in a AVN format imho) if they were used as a placeholder because the writer / developer has no experience using 3D programs or cannot draw, but the story and framework are engaging and / or bring something new to the table. Unfortunately, that hasn't been my experience, so I just filter the combo "real porn" OR "html" out.
Also, reused scenes from other sources (even sometimes having watermarks) cannot match the creator's vision, and it is jarring. Then, of course, I am also wondering if I have seen that actress somewhere else before, so it is more distracting than attractive.

Hate them and avoid them like the plague.
First they very seldom actually acknowledge who the people are so screw you if you want to check them out for yourself.
Then there is the issue where generally the story has to be on rails or the continuity of the images goes straight to shit.
Stories also feel shoe horned in unless they are just retelling the "story" of the OG pictures in which case why waste time.

It's one thing if actors are hired to make original scenes for the game but that is just about non existent compared to the total amount of games with real images.

Mostly the games start with a text. So in my head I am making up the actors. When I then see a pic they totally differ from the ones in my head.

And even worse: from pic to pic the actors change…

I don't mind them, the only two things I don't like about them is, one, when they just throw a bunch of pictures together that look nothing alike for each character, which seems incredibly lazy and makes me lose interest real fast, and two, when they put entire videos in the game causing the games size to bloat to astronomical proportions.

Since they have to work with existing images/videos, it's very limited in what it can present, so I just skip it. The images/videos never fit well with the story/text, since it's recycled material and not something designed to fit in the story/game.
Most of them are also 'html', so instant skip here. Even a text-only renpy game is usually so much better, just given that someone put more effort into the story.
