I didn't care for GTA 4. GTA games should (and have) be set in a sunny, warm setting to contrast the dark themes and violence. This bleak New York type of setting in 4 wasn't doing it for me. The story is good but the rest of it just isn't for me, and the driving is awful

To me 4 is easily worse than 5, SA, and VC
Can't agree with that! GTA 4's gritty, realistic setting is what made it stand out.

The dark, rainy streets of Liberty City added to the game's edgy tone and immersion. It's a bold choice that paid off.

The driving might not be perfect, but it's part of the game's charm. I think 4 is still one of the best in the series 😒

Last of us is overrated and ruined gaming. After Last of us every other game turned into movie games more cutscenes less gameplay games should be games not movies if i want to watch movies ill watch moives.

It insists upon itself. I swear to god, companies don't understand that you can't be jerking yourself off while making your game

Also Betshseda games in general suck. They haven't evolved for modern times. (n)

I wasn't always this way. Not sure when I changed, but I HATE replayability. I want to spend lots of hours on a game, only doing new content and be DONE.
Some reviewer stated how they hated Bethesda's :
"You can be leader of the mages, fighters, thieves, assassins, etc... guild at once. NO. You open a door, the other closes. THAT is gaming. Replay it again for the new content."
Nope! Not replaying.

I'm autistic and yet I STILL have a limit of how many times I do things. How do normies like repetition?

Example of what I hate: Star Wars The Old Republic. Numbers out of my ass.
8 Classes which all together gives you 10% of the content (i.e. 1.25% per class).
2 Sides which all together gives you 40% of the content (i.e. 20% per side)
Common content which gives you 50% of the content. (nothing to write here)

So your first pass = 1 new Class, 1 new Side, 1 new Common = Everything is new.
Second pass = 1 new Class, 1 new Side, 1 seen Common = About half is new.
Third pass = 1 new Class, 1 seen Side, 1 Seen Common = A fraction is new. Gotta do this 6 TIMES to see all.

BUT WAIT. There's also Light Side, neutral and Dark Side options on SOME missions which gives us SOME new content.
So, to be a completionist, I gotta do this 24 times, with diminishing rewards? As I said Nope!

BUT, if I say that I hate replayability about AVNs and EVEN IF IT HAS THE KINETIC TAG right there, then people go "Dude. That's stupid. Just watch porn."
IT SAYS KINETIC. It's... in... the... tags...

Now, I just avoid "psychic repetitive" gaming in mainstream and AVNs by having a handy walkthrough or a Mod so that I do my ONE pass and I'm done.

Ugh, can't agree more! I'm all about sinking my teeth into a rich, sprawling narrative and exploring every nook and cranny, but replayability? No thanks!

I crave novelty, not repetition. Games that force me to retread the same ground, making minor tweaks to story or mechanics, drain my enthusiasm. It's like watching the same movie with slight edits – what's the point? Give me depth, complexity, and a sense of completion. AVNs with the kinetic tag? Forget it! I'm not looking to replay the same interactions; I want a unique experience that unfolds without repetition. One and done is my motto.

Anything that smacks of redundancy gets an instant pass from me. How do people enjoy reliving the same moments? Guess I'll stick to my trusty walkthroughs and savoring each game's singular charm.

3DCG games are slop and I can't understand who loves them.

Maybe I'm misreading. But it sounds like the real problem is that in games that boast of "replayability", you're really replaying 90% of the same content to see the 10% that's different from your last playthrough.

Which... yeah, that's fair. I have to admit that is one big part of why I got bored of SWTOR.

You're not misreading.

The frustration stems from feeling like you're repeating a lot of the same content to access a smaller portion of new material.

This can be especially frustrating in games that market themselves as having high replay value.
SWTOR's class and faction structure, with a large chunk of shared content, can lead to a sense of repetition. It's like doing the same classwork with minor variations, which can get old fast.

Some players might enjoy the nuance of different storylines or character builds, but for others, the repetition can outweigh the benefits.

I loved GTAIV. Liberty city was such a good setting. First modern feeling "open world" if you don't count MMOs, i think.

GTA 6 for me is clearly going to create wars

world of warcraft is now boring as hell close that game overwatch was originally the starter for project titan (world of warcraft 2 so) why titant didn't launch sigh let wow die peacefully my heart bleed when i see what it's become now

The amount of AVN games that have normalized cheating in them is a reflection of the story writer's lack of imagination to create interesting and compelling drama. Should take a page from the average japanese AVN, the diversity of story, comedy and drama types is much deeper (though to be honest they have less porn in them in general).

I don't know how controversial any of these are, however, they have started arguments in the past so I think they count.

Microtransactions and gacha mechanics being terrible isn't controversial, but my take is that not only should those games not exist, the people who play them should also be vaporized for actively financially contributing to the greed present in modern gaming.

The only good "Bethesda" game (FNV) wasn't even made by Bethesda. The rest are practically (or sometimes even literally) unplayable without mods and I say this even as a diehard Morrowboomer.

Almost Rockstar games are lame, especially the more recent ones. Movement is clunky, gunplay isn't satisfying, and the narratives feel like someone is trying way too hard to be Tarantino. I give the Red Deads a pass but that's only because I'm a total slut for Westerns, which is a genre that has been dying for decades now.

I bet I'll think of more eventually.

Super Smash Bros ruined itself when Brawl added Snake and Sonic, opening the door for 3rd party characters killed any chances for interesting first party characters to be revived like Pit.
Trophies too, Smash Ultimate doing away with them for Spirit was a terrible change, I rather look at 10 3D Trophies with a snippet of lore than look at 100 still images of characters with no content.

Second, more controversial. I hate Undertale purely because of the fanbase, I never played the game and I never will solely because of how annoying the fandom is.
