Ideally it would be nice if games did not require walktroughs.... unfortunately, many (most) games do not implement alternate storylines well. They only have one optimal path and you are forced to use a walkthrough to get it

I avoided them at one time, but after it took me hours to get a scene i started to prefer them

Yup, that's a big plus in my book. Even better when the game has it included and you don't have to mod it.

Every walkthrough should be built in and have "path" info. There are too many games even with a walkthrough that don't tell you shit and all it tells you is what stats are affected by making a choice.

Also, I fuckin' hate forced endings when there's a million choices

I use walktroughs and other mods with games that lock out content with every choice you make.

They usually aren't needed with games that are designed well and hint what will happen.

I'm spoiled now and will rarely even play a game with no in-game walkthrough. I might try it, but the first whiff I get that a wrong choice may exclude content, I'm out. I'll either search for a mod, hack the gallery, or give up on the game.

I want to experience the story not play the save / load game. I also have that gaming condition where I don't have a good time if I feel like I'm missing something. So branching games can give me anxiety. But built in walkthroughs are a boon.

Visual novels without a walkthrough always make me afraid of missing out on content

I like walkthroughs especially when there are different options/paths. In-game walkthoughs are better than an out of game text walkthrough. Prefer it to be native, but I'll mod it in if needed.

I generally try to go without it but if the game is either too convoluted or there is a chance to lose scenes, I'll go with the Walkthrough...which means that for a lot of adult games, walkthrough is the way to go.

I like walkthroughs especially when some choices are really obscure

Without walkthrough I can't go through cause I'm a dumbass.

Real value of vn is in either story or porn. Without wt some good content is hidden behind wall of bulshit.

I love walkthroughs but hate kinetic novels. I ask myself: ARE YOU A MORON? I answer: Shut up!

Only if it's already there. I hate having to skip between the game and a text file or website. Especially useful when there are multiple paths. Yeah, kinetic novels suck. Not games.

I use them when available. So little time ... So much fun :p
