discussion Uploaders Needed

Hey folks. I wanted to make this post asking for people to help out with uploading. We currently only have a team of four, not counting the moderators that help us out because of how behind we are, and we sorely need more bodies. If you have some time to chip in, that would be really appreciated. With the departure of Guz, we lost one of our greatest tools that made uploading much easier, and as such we need to expand our team to compensate. The more the merrier. ='D

Requirements:

1. Discord is mandatory. We have an uploader-specific server that we use to coordinate.​

2. An account minimum of 6 months. That's the hard cutoff. No consideration if it's less than that.​

​

3. Activity on the site. I know a lot of people like to lurk and download the games without really interacting, and I get it (I was the same way), but leaving comments in the game threads or just engaging with the other threads is an indicator that you enjoy your time on the site on a more-than-skin-deep basis.​

4. Decent internet speeds. You don't need to have ultra petabit speeds, but something faster than smoke signals on a windy day is great. We have to download games in order to make mirrors, and if your speed is too slow it takes a significant chunk of time per thread.​

5. Availability and active participation. You aren't married to us, but if you're going to apply to help out, then please be around and actually help out. We don't have daily quotas or anything like that, but we're very behind and Severed can be a slave driver. *cough*​

6. Being fluent in English is a must. While we have a very wide-ranging user base, the site staff are still primarily English-speaking, and we don't want to have to speak via translator. English being your native language isn't a requirement, but being fluent enough that it isn't a problem is.​

Ranks:

Trial Uploader - Tutorial rank. Limited freedom. All posts must be approved by a moderator (I guess more specifically me) to make sure that all information is accurate. Promotion to regular Uploader after 10 threads and limited flaws (emphasis on the limited flaws).​

Uploader - Base rank. No limitations, and no longer required to have posts approved. Promotion to Sr Uploader after 100 additions and 100 updates. (All of these are tracked on Discord.)​

Sr Uploader - As the name implies, a senior position. Not exactly an executive position, but helps instruct newer members if they need help. Promotion to Lead Uploader after 200 additions and 200 updates.​

Lead Uploader - Typically only one at a time, as Lead Uploader is the second-in-command of the uploader crew. Lead Uploader also gets first-consideration for moderator promotions, should a spot open up.​

I will add from myself that if you are scared of this role - don't be. After rollbacks I helped uploading some of the stuff, it's not that hard and uploaders we have are helpful and pleasant to work with. If you sincerely want LC to become a better place then it's almost assured you are good enough.

The fact we need to use discord as a requirement will make me never want to join the staff.
