Updates and their content - Fewer content but frequent updates or larger content but slower updates?

I also prefer more bigger updates, BUT if you have to wait an year it makes also no sense.
At best every month or every 2 month.

Hate those games where is like every week a update where is only like one new scene at all. Makes no sense at all

I rather have frequent updates because it seems like devs who only make large updates end up abandoning the game.

I think this question is heavily subjective overall.
There are games that can certainly wait and release more substantial updates. One game I can say I wait 4-6 updates before playing again as each update is literally only 5 min long.
Other games have very frequent updates but have substantial amount.

I get that developers have their own things going on and they can't dedicate as much time as others.
Some can do monthly / bi monthly updates and release a good amount of content each time.
Others should consider doing bi - yearly, every 4 months or quarterly as their output is limited.

I prefer larger content but slower updates. Frequent updates with little content I just find annoying, and if I still like the game will often just pass on several updates before playing the game again.

I will wait for a larger content update or a few small updates. If the play time is shorter then the time it took to download it's not worth it.

Larger content is always betters as long as they don't say fuck it and restart the game 18 different times.

i have to pick larger content but slower updates
i really don't like getting an update and it only being one scene

Larger content, slower updates - as long as that doesn't mean "coming soon" forever.

Frequent updates with fewer content tends to burn me out of the specific game. I rather have larger, slower updates with more content, that way I can finish an update and talk about the update for a week, then I can take a break from the game and come back for the next update.

larger updates are better, but if it means to wait 2 years (and in some cases you need to restart the game because the saved one will be corrupted) then i'd rather have smaller updates more often

Indeed, updates that are too small become tiresome...
We're happy to play the game again... and then... nothing.

I prefer frequent and large! ;-)

But if I have to choose, I prefer significant content over frequent updates. As long as the wait between the updates isn't as long as, say, Bad Memories.

I think if people do smaller updates it should at least appear that something is happening. I see Dev make small updates that people could not tell if anything different was happening in the story, in turn make people angry. If it insignificant you can hold it off or let people know. Like if you added an entire new branch and option but people rarely click on or see it then they would think nothing happen. Updated should end in something like a tent pole so people have something that they can know was progress. People are usually happy if they have one or 2 nude or sex scene sense that their tent pole that they used to see that the story progress and make them happy, more would be even better.

I play mostly finished games but have a couple saved that I play each new episode mixed in. So for me I like more frequent updates.
