Jokes a side, it happened to me with my self from the past. I tried to rewatch The Young Ones, but it didn't age well. I couldn't understand why I found it that funny when I was kid.

I kinda watch everything, and mostly I am the one recommending shows. Though I assume based on their interest, and generally I am right.
But I keep recommending either Stargate SG-1 or Farscape to my dad but he rather waste time watching brain rot than 'waste time' watching someting good.

Nope my Dad's Star Trek was my Star Trek. Despite what JJ Abrams tried to force on people. My dad's 007 is my 007, the one thing I can call my own is Star Wars it was made for my generation. I'm not talking the prequel or the Disney garbage but real Star Wars. My mom enjoys MASH I enjoy MASH, My mom liked Frasier I enjoy Frasier though I thought the remake sucked.

My lunatic of a mother liked the crime stuff like tatort, csi, quincy, columbo, ... and my fanatic of a father only cared about sports and history documentary, mainly focused on nazi bullshit.
I never cared about any of these in general, but some anime detectives, sport teams and hellsing are nice ^^

But thats as far as i can help, i dont use it myself.
