Thoughts on Hairy body part on games?

I have no preference on pubes either way. My only real complaint is a lot of them just look horrible. I was experimenting with Golden Palace for Genesis 3, and some of them looked like they drew the pubes on with a sharpie.

Hairy pits and legs on females is not something I am into, but it's not a deal killer.

Male characters...as long as they don't look like a hairy gorilla, I am ok.

I failed to see the appeal on this, why would you make your character hairy on armpit or lower body.

If anybody found the appeal please enlighten me.

Games supposed to be a fantasy why would you put something like that in your game?

Like one times I was interested about this one game but after seeing the CG I quit immediately.

Also please list a few games with hairy armpit or body part on female so I can avoid them. Thanks beforehand
Its not my cup of tea

Because we are mammals. We are SUPPOSED to be hairy. That hair serves biological, evolutionary functions. It is only since about the late 70s and 80s that shaving or waxing for 'hygiene' and 'sexiness' was even a thing. For about half a century now, it's been the norm to shave. For all of human history before that it was not. Yes, people did tend the old lady garden in ye olden days, but never to the scale of today. And usually through some pretty bonkers and barbaric methods. Most modern people who find hair 'disgusting' only do so because they were born during that half century where it was thrown at us from every beauty magazine, every movie, every TV show, every rumour in school, etc that body hair is icky and we should get rid of it. Even more so if you are female.

Ironically enough, that half century also happens to be the period during which most of the development of computer hardware has skyrocketed. And yet, even now, rendering realistic hair in a CG environment is still a bitch. Up there with realistic water physics. CG studios are still inventing new ways to cope with it with every new feature they put out. I can remember there were groundbreaking techniques used on Tangled to make Rapunzel's hair function instead of going ballistic like a Bethesda game on Day 1. We've found lots of ways to bluff it. To make it look acceptable. But those ways usually take time, energy and care. Not something your average VN dev is throwing into something they want to make them a quick buck. So, most of the time it is implemented in VNs, it looks like it's glued on, growing out really badly or some other abomination of nature. And that's not just unique to body hair.

These traits together are, IMO, what has led to hair being so rare in VNs. A social movement that seems to be on the general decline as real information being much more easily available destroys the rumour and misinformation of our youth that told us all that body hair bad. And the remaining uphill battle to render realistic hair. It's hard enough dealing with the must have head hair, why waste resources on pubes and other hair that has an easy out to explain not being there in a VN. And there are still so few readily available systems for proper easily implemented body hair like legs, arms and arm pits. It tends to be totally bald or a thick dark forest, no real in between. There are ways to make it work, but they are almost always a lot of additional work. Remember, everything that exists in a VN had to be created. Every single pixel was added to the scene by the dev. None of it is there without some effort.

I definitely would like more varied body hair in content I consume. A lot of it involves the kinds of games found only here, and in those, it makes a lot of sense for the girls to be bare. But the average 'I chased my frigid lonely mum and convinced her to bone' VNs... Mum has been keeping up her grooming spectacularly, given no one but her has been seeing it for a while. Give us more milfs who gave up the grooming because why maintain something no one is seeing. Humans are a really diverse and different bunch. It would be nice for VNs to better portray that. But I know and acknowledge the limitations and cultural hangups that prevent it most of the time.

But we really need to do better on being honest about why we do it. It has nothing to do with being more hygenic, healthy or clean. It's a social norm that came about really really recently and was hammered into us by media and movies. Just like the lie that circumsion makes for a cleaner penis. In that case, it causes actual tangible harm for an aesthetic/religious reason. Not a health one.

Hair can be nice if done right in a game. Emphasis on if done right. Most of the time it's unrealistic/looks plastic. Especially leg hair from what I've seen on men.

Not a fan of pit or leg hair. A little bush is okay but not preferred.

Love a hairy pussy (not too wild though). Not a fan of hairy pits or legs.

I can really go either way, but I do prefer shaved. I am not a fan of full shag carpet though, at least trim it up IMO.

I am not really a fan, but I will admit when there have been times it was tastefully done so it actually didn't bug me.

Depends on how hairy it is but most of the time I don't mind it

excessive body hair no, a little bit, sure that's fine

Not personally for me irl or in games..unless it groomed and trimmed. Armpit and legs not a fan. And for me it's what ever my partner preferred

Body hair is a no from me. Some bush is fine but I prefer it smooth. However I do have a thing for a girl starting off hairy in a game/story and then shaving it later on.

not o fan of body hair tbh but its not an deal breaker. Unless they go over bord with it thats just gross

On pubes - don't like - should only be if it takes place in the 80s or before.
Armpits or legs? No - period. That's fucking gross. Makes her look like a guy.

maybe for having a sense of realism? It prolly is more hotter if the game was romanced-based or something. I personally prefer Just a bit on my games, since it tells me that the game is a bit grounded on reality, which makes it hotter.

I've always thought that the inclusion of body hair in games adds a layer of realism that can be really appealing, it's something that's often overlooked but can make characters feel more human and relatable.

Same as all else. Can be nice, but too much is awful
