The social experiment of opening up the lurkers

Rarely does the lurkers get out of their dark little corners but here they are compelled to, the interesting part is that a lot of them, including me, take this chance of interaction to talk about how hard it is to get out of their lurking ways. I would like to see some data on how this ends up going. How many will continue to post even though they have reached their goal? Will they also stop lurking in other places?

I will, after some initial shock, make an attempt at being more active in various forums.

It was a wonderful experience for me. I'm a serious lurker on the internet for security reasons, and I don't use any type of social media. My account here is not old because I just found the site when Seath (BlackHeart Games) told me he would post the next updates only here because Cuck95 banned some of his games, but my account there is really a lurker's trophy, six years and a half with only likes and zero messages. I lurked there every fucking day and saw they banned a lot of my favorite games and devs.
After the requirements for the Member+ area, I find a good and nice community without too much drama, no kink-shaming, and a lot of open-minded people to vent without any type of censorship. I'll never be a lurker here again, I'll keep giving feedback on my favorite games, talking with the great devs (my favorite part), and helping my fellow lurkers get their precious access to the sinners section.

similar Modus operandi to how i operate as i never know the full extent of data a site collects and if site is compromised what will be leaked. here everything is legal but it wouldn't stop a hacker from showing your family friends and boss or extorting. if said data leaked you have a great chance of your boss/family/friends deciding they want nothing to do with you which can in turn cause loss.

before someone says "if you're ashamed of it then you probably shouldn't do it" let me give a better example more people can relate to. if you vote in a election(or don't) you usually have 2 main candidates that are the most extreme sides of the country. we will call them red and blue. lets say you vote for blue despite your boss hating his guts and wants red in. you can lose your job just for a difference in opinion even though your choice is legal. if you decide to not decide you still have made a choice(which for some reason the red and blue voters both absolutely abhor)

my issue with the other site listed is they don't have solid operations. one second something you are playing is perfectly fine next admin shift it's banned. for a while seemed like they were fairly understanding(they'd allow obvious fake but not anything that could be construed as being derived from something real. that was quite some time ago). i understand they are trying to appease a certain group so what happened to this site doesn't happen to them(as much as i hate to admit i still lurk there because i like the search system and not all the games i like are forbodden 90-95% can still be found on there. i came here in attempt for less censorship)

Depends on if it's worthwhile to keep contributing. Other sites that use a similar system normally die fast, but there's some that have low requirements to upkeep and put you in lurker prison if you can't do basic reactions. Those ones are okay.

I'm ok with social experiments... except this one where I was one of the mice.

All humor aside, I think it did help some users here realize that the other anonymous people here aren't evil, hateful or mean. I do hope some of the lurkers (including me) will stay at least in the quieter areas of the forums and make this a nice, friendly little spot where pervs can be pervs and not get judged or banned for saying that a kid looks hot. This at least has made them a temporary part of something. If they like the feeling and want to stay active, I'm happy to have them around, and will do what I can to make them feel welcome.

If it hasn't died yet... there's a chance it'll be around a while. All of this new user activity may help sell a few banners or ads here and there to make them less reliant on donations. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what direction they want to go with it (not like direction has been a constant thing in the past few days).

After only spending 30 minutes trying to get coins, it's honestly a pretty low requirement to only need 500, so I'd say it's worth it as a lurker myself. Based on the activity already, I'd say that it'd take a serious road bump to cause this site to die.

i think it's a challenge in consistency. It seems like (from what i've read) that rules and requirements can be pretty fluid...

I'm really much a dhamphir in that I can walk in the light but I choose da darkness.

But honestly, I can still see this going awry in a couple ways but until then, I'll just lurk around and post on threads that interest me, like that anti-social thread.

To be honest I was never active on this forums, just see some games and leave with no social interaction.
With these new rule it leads me to interact with every one of them and honestly it refreshes my mind.
Also I'm loner in real life with one single friend and other friends to use, the site helped me a lot within three days of active. After upgrading to VIP I'll still interact with lurkers.
