To note, you don't have to play the other games to understand this one, but if you plan on playing the other games, then playing in that order is probably preferable, to avoid spoilers, although, really the games were coming out at the same time, so the more realistic approach is playing one until it seems to reference another, switching to that game, and playing until it references a different one (or the one you were playing previously) and rinse and repeat.Thank you very much :![]()
But realistically if you just want to enjoy this game's story, and don't care about those other games (understandable for a lot of people since some of them are significantly darker in tone than this one, especially for people who went with the love route, which I assume is fairly common), most of the time you can choose to just get a summary or whatever of what happened in the other game, and move on without really missing anything essential.
And supposedly the sequel isn't going to be (nearly) as connected to the rest of Seath's other games, and is going to be more of its own thing with only really being connected to the previous game, and the loose leftover connections that were inevitable because of certain characters. But I believe he's said it's not going to have crossover sections with other games he's making or anything like that, which is certainly a plus, given his games can have enough going on by themselves.
