This right here is why I never actually managed to get around to playing 0.12R, and can't bring myself to care about the completed game, despite having enjoyed the game for a long time. 0.12 (non-R) was the last version I played, and it feels like at this point, it would be more of a chore to play for an unsatisfying reward, which is just not what I want in an AVN. I was able to ignore the BHH/SWP connections for the most part, as annoying as they were, but I was getting the sense that this game is modeled after the concept that nothing good can happen to Marcus without a twist fucking it up later on, and that gets really un-fun after it happens several times, and it's massively un-fun to have in an ending.
I also felt that in v12 the game was becoming repetitive and somewhat depressing. But in this new conclusion /update it reached the new lows.
Even the rare lewd scenes don't save the mood. They are put there as if they just have to be put there. They don't come naturally.
If the game was finalized before the Australian trip it would only benefit it (not that I say there were no problems before that part).

I still find it interesting that people keep thinking that Lilith is Marcus' daughter. This was a story told by his mother, well known to be a pathological liar, Why would people believe much, if anything, she ever said?

Honestly, with Seath's writing style I wouldn't be surprised and I don't care any more. I need a coherent story, not a mishmash of riddles and twists that doesn't make any sense.
I mean, I'm greatful that he is going to finish Proud Father, but I start to worry for that game as well. It has already its own share of plot holes.

The latest depend on your device.
What I'm interested in knowing is if you see something inside the Android/data folder, or it says "no file"‽
I know my way into android. I've tried putting the unlocker in the file system through windows. It doesn't work. I want to know if there is a specific version with the gallery unlocked.

Since there's already been a few comments that cover the weird focus on endless twists, I'll skip over that and wanted to concur as well with Beduin on how the later parts of the story just felt like they were on an interminable trudge to be more depressing. The sex couldn't save it, it honestly didn't feel like the decisions you could make mattered, and the actual big decision about leaving your family to find Lilith wasn't even under the player's control.

That felt doubly annoying as, in the decision on what to tell Sierra about the relationship, I told her I loved her and that ended up not influencing anything, and her ending felt really poorly thought out for those who had made that decision since you just abandon her to find Lilith who I actively tried to avoid as much as possible. I really feel that the dev tried too hard and should have left the decision on staying or leaving up to the player so that there was SOME chance of happiness.

I just want to say Seath that I'm very proud that you've managed to make and finish a wonderful game. Your own second game finished in a world where people struggle to finish a singular fucking game over span of 6 years.
I'm impressed by how much content this last update had, granted it being more story focused rather than scenes with girls.
I do also love the fact that choices carried over and actually reflected on the endings.
Some of the moments were truly hard hitting :/
All the confusion and riddles around the story aside, wonderful game!
Thank you for all your hard work.

How far did you play the game? there is an option pretty early actually to turn of "story content" and just focus on the girls story and lewdness....
I'm fairly far, but the early bits I played ages ago. Maybe back then I figured I don't wanna miss anything, and by the time it got too annoying, I had forgotten that was a choice.

But thanks for reminding me, I may have to restart and turn that off then.

didnt know this was finished
is the MC alive at the end or she dies?
The MC (Marcus) is alive. Or you are asking about Lilith? But in general I feel that the game should have beed finished a couple of updates ago, from that time it went only down the hill.

Wait... What... So it's game over?
Yes and no.
The Guardian is over as a game.
The Guardian 2 will continue the story.
You'll have to wait a bit though as Seath's going to be developing ending to Proud Father and continuing Personal Assistant.

So, I finished the game after like 8 days of on/off playing, and I have to agree with a lot of the other comments in this thread that the story overall felt like it was dragging for the sake of it. A lot of the twists felt really forced and just like the story didn't want to allow anything good to happen to Marcus, regardless of our choices.

My biggest issue with the story overall, and it was one that cropped up very early was the fact the entire thing was being told through a flashback-style scenario with the therapist. That heavily hindered our freedom as a player to have any real impact since we were constantly being told or even straight up shown how certain characters ended up before we got to have any meaningful choices.
It railroaded us down a set path regardless of what we do and that just isn't an enjoyable experience. That is on top of the countless inconsistencies where characters would say one thing happened but in reality something different happened. Or how a few aspects of the timeline doesn't make sense with the story.
For example,
Lilith supposedly took Jill and disappeared for... around 16 years or so from what I can gather. But Jill refers to Lilith as her mother and is seemingly early to mid 20s or so. That means she had to have been taken when she was at minimum 5 years old, if not older than that. So why would she believe Lilith is her mother when she would have been old enough to know that's not true? Or how would Jill have not pieced together that Marcus was talking about her when she was told everything? The line about "wow, that girl had the same name as me" doesn't really work when she should have been able to piece it together at that point.

I really enjoyed the story, up until stuff started to just go off the rails during the Australia trip when it started to become a slog of constant twists with nothing ever really given chance to sit and rest. I feel like Seath had the makings of a really compelling story here, but it got lost along the way. It would have done much better with someone helping him keep things in check, less twists, more consistency and a better throughline. As well as it not being revealed that the story was being told to a therapist until the very end. That way you can give players a choice on endings where they either stay with their family or go after Lilith, with the therapist reveal being if you chose Lilith and that being the canonical choice for TG2.

AFAIR the SoWP was initially considered to be three full seasons and even the first haven't been finished so far. Though, due to lack of public interest it may be limited to just one.
Also, I think Blackheart: The Beginning is set in the same universe but written by a different Dev.

Basically correct. SoWP is still slated for completion.
and BHH:The Beginning, while considered canon to the blackheart Universe, it;s is not considered an official Blackheart Game.
