SO ive been wondering if due to patreon cracking down on adult games and a lot of them fleeing ship to places like subscribe star, i wonder if they will start making games with more spicy content like incest/petite/beast etc

Outside of a few guys like Proud Father dev, I believe the monetization possibilities at SS is wildly lower than at Patreon. That said, if enough "mainstream" devs are forced over there it might grow. SS truly doesn't seem to care what sort of content pops up over there as long as it doesn't concern actual real people.

Yeah that's him. He was making bank though before that happened.

Just goes to show you, research your local laws before you get FBI (0r equivalent) knocking down your door.

At the end of the day it seems to be another case of payment processors cracking down on adult content. This recently added community guidelines part is laughable.
Consent

It is paramount that Adult/18+ creators demonstrate consent in all works (real or animated; photo, video, written, audio) between adult participants or characters; specifically, a freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous indication of consent by a statement or by a clear affirmative action. Additionally, participants and characters must be able to give consent (i.e. not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, hypnosis, blackmail). “Consensual non-consent” works, in which participants or characters engage in simulated non-consensual encounters, are not permitted. Accompanying a work that features a non-consensual encounter with a statement claiming that the encounter was consensual is a violation of Patreon guidelines.
Enjoy writing up explicit consent for all your fictional characters hah.

Unfortunately due to the way payment processing is gatekept there's not really a good solution when corporate interests want to remove things that aren't on the straight and narrow.

The problem still remains, though. If enough volume moves over to SS to garner attention, the payment processors will start putting pressure on them and we get the same problem of running away to try and find any free space left on the over corporatised web.

Yeah it's probably best that SS doesn't get too big or it'll become like Patreon. Nothing you can do if you can't collect money.

Fingers crossed for some kind of stable-coin

If only those crypto guys would think up a way to make an actually useful and accessible payment system instead of making unique cat-art-receipts.

I wouldn't hold your breath for crypto to be stable enough to actually replace fiat currency. It's an interesting technology with no real demonstrable practical use that anyone has been able to implement, unless you count fleecing people by presenting it as an "investment" and then making bank by dumping all your coins at the peak.

Rugpulling crypto is one of the best things its used for! Let the rubes who follow you on twitter lose all their savings so you and your buddies can be enriched!
I do wonder if the corporate porn industry could break into the credit/banking system so we could have a less partisan influenced payment system. It really is just wishful thinking at this point :/

Honestly if cryptocurrency has any chance of being more than a novelty it'll probably be because the porn industry embraced it for some purpose.

Actually its use as an currency gives it its value. Its like gold except much easier to move around (gold usually only moves on a ledger unless you're like Russia). Being traded in volume gives it value, and its ability to be used more anonymously than a bank transfer would is why its gone from 50$ each to 60k+

But that makes SS the only spot for such content right?

One of the issues is that what may be legal today can change tomorrow. For a dev, I imagine this makes it a bit crazy when thinking of what to create and how/if to monetize it.

Semi correct. What gives a currency real value is that a country is backing that currency. What people care about is stability.
Crypto currencies are highly volatile because its value is not secured by anyone or anything. It works much more like a stock portfolio than a fiat currency.

That's pretty much the point I was making but the ability to trade crypto make them more like a foreign currency and the trade volume of BTC would put it as one of the most stable currencies on the planet.

I hope all these games go to ss. A struggle with sin in particular. All the adult games would be so much better over there.

Well, entirely new payment ways might become a necessity, but that's beyond the abilities of most of us. We might also need more avenues instead of just SS,in case they get uppity about their content too, because of external pressure.

I really think this is an excellent discussion thread!!
I saw the conversations of several great masters here, which gave me the opportunity to learn more about relevant information. Really grateful!
