I keep the sound low if not completely off. Sometimes the audio works with the games, but usually not.

in story based games like light of my life it is good to keep the sound on but for joke games like max life it is muted as soon as you open it

Sound off almost always. I don't find the music to really add anything and I don't want any sexy noises going out if I'm not wearing headphones.

Typically if its ambient sounds, or atmospheric ones - like from Desert Stalker, it'll be on. Otherwise off as if it that type, it usually is detrimental to the experience.

If there is any voiced characters then I would always leave sound on but if not then I would just set the settings to low.

Off, some of the sounds jumpscare me sometimes lol. Maybe I will try getting a feel for having it on though.

but I turn them down to very low
or off when I'm just holding the ctrl key to skip dialog (especially when an update isn't compatible with old saves)

I leave the sound on but turn down the music to barely above muted. Hearing the same music on loop just gets too repetitive.

Unless it's a Japanese game with good VO, music,ect then I normally turn the sound down and voices off

I always turn the sound down to zero in VN games. Just wondering if anyone keeps it on, and games that have decent sound.

But i am anti music i very rarely play any game indie-AAAA with music on
