I prefer winter, because I like to be warm and I don't sweat a lot (obviously for bathing with hot water)
The heat doesn't because it burns me a lot and I have to drink a lot of water and even then it doesn't take away the heat.
I absolutely hate snow and cold - and being anemic now, I feel cold in the low 70s F. It's been a cold winter here and no major snows but lots of nuisance snows.
Neither. Fall is only season where I don't feel like shit. Winters too cold, summers too hot and spring just makes me miserable from all the types of pollen.
If I have to choose between those two, Team Winter. Cold is much more manageable than heat.
Winter:
- You wear warm and comfortable clothes, although I hate clothes that are too oppressive like those bulky coats.
- The nights well wrapped up are comforting and if you have a partner even more so.
- The rain gives a special touch to the world.
- Having an excuse to stay home is always valuable.
- That beautiful moment of just turning on the television, covering yourself with blankets, having a hot chocolate and watching a good movie is nice.
- Obviously it is hell if you live in places that go below -10°C (Where I live the temperature goes from -5°C to 35°C)
- Working in winter can be better or worse depending on where you work.
- If you are cold you have many ways to keep warm.
Summer:
- Clothing options are limited.
- Nights are torture, you can't sleep because of the heat and if you open a window you'll be eaten by mosquitoes.
- Being sticky from sweat is not nice and showering is only a short-term solution, the wet feeling of water on your skin after a shower feels unpleasant.
- Walking your pet is often impossible, you'll burn its paws on the asphalt.
- Working in the heat is one of the worst things to do.
- If you're hot you can take off your clothes, but even naked seems to be insufficient.
- The beach and swimming pools are fun... if you can afford them. Not everyone lives near the sea or swimming pools and having your own isn't cheap... plus I dislike public swimming pools, it's basically a communal bathtub.
If you're talking about hot nights - ever hear of air conditioning? Pretty much everyone around here has it, and it's not even a particularly hot part of the US. You could actually die without it.
Winter is too cold to do most anything outside. Have to bundle up just to grab the mail.
As some people mentioned, yes you can bundle up more when it's cold, but working in the cold when wearing a bunch of clothes just plain sucks. I'd rather be in shorts and t-shirt sweating my balls off then freezing at all.
Days are way too short, leave for work when it's dark, get home it's dark.
