Sorry for the long post below but what I'm about to tell you is important stuff if you like to keep up to date with the development of Sinful Summer (In spoilers for easier reading because it's freaking long! )

First of all, I'd like to thank you all for supporting me during the last year. I started this project in January/February 2024 and it's crazy how far it has come in such a short time. Not only in the number of paid supporters in my SubscribeStar, but also people who love my visual novel and shower me in nothing but praise and constructive criticism in the places I am active.
Thanks to you I've been able to make a passion my job, and most importantly, to keep improving the quality of the new updates and making my vision reality. That is, a true kinetic visual novel for incest lovers without any of the "bullshit'' (censorship, time sinks, million side characters, lack of updates...)

All that's to say, I need to recharge my "batteries". I've been working non-stop since February and releasing more than 10 decent sized updates in such a short time leads to, as you might imagine, burn out. I want the next part (version 2.7) to be a nice conclusion to chapter 2 that leads into the most SINFUL part of this wholesome summer during chapter 3... and 4 perhaps? I feel like the quality of the novel will take a dive if I keep rushing ahead.
Moreover, as many people pointed out to me, chapter 1 still has many flaws and I want to take a look at it again. I already did some stuff with the narrator lines in 2.6 but I'd like to remake even more old renders, some of the songs, and just make the overall reading experience more pleasant, and less frustrating and verbose.
Also one of my friends, another developer called HotTomato, who I helped with his visual novel "DeadMoon Survival", went missing before finishing the project we worked so much on... This has put me in a sad mood overall and contributed to the burn out too.
So yeah, I will NOT be working on the next update during December. I will, however, be reworking some stuff for chapter 1, and also learning some more rendering/animation techniques. Plus I want to organise my mods folder in the 3D software I use, to make stuff like posing characters in the scene less of a headache, among other things.

You might have a little gift by Christmas but no promises. For subscribers with recurring billing, you can either join the free tier or cancel the membership right after playing chapter 2.6, so you don't get charged for a month when I will barely work on the project. And no, I'm not enabling vacation mode because other fellow creators have had problems with it, and SubscribeStar tech support has literally been ignoring all my emails since August about other issues I have with the platform. I'm not taking any risks.
Expect things to go back to normal during January. I want to finish chapter 2 (releasing 2.7) before the anniversary of the game if possible... I still can't believe it has been almost a year! This post makes me nostalgic:
