Sorry late lurker to this convo, and I have not read all the pages, but my 5 cents is side boob
Reason, I grew up in the 70's & 80's (born 60's), and the fashion back then had the yummy female species wearing semi revealing clothes, the biggest for a while was very loose fitting singlet style tops. so much side boobage to be seen with some nipple when you got lucky.

I may be basic, but cleavage is just more appealing visually than anything else. Though between sideboob and underboob the winner for me is underboob, especially if the rest is covered by something real cute

Exactly. That rarity of it makes it very interesting!

Cleavage is shown in a lot of normal clothing cuts, but underboob happens only with clothes designed to show underboob!

Underboob - rarity & sheer perkiness makes it a winner
Sideboob - the ability to covertly observe is great & also allows the girl to pretend it wasn't her intention to show off
Cleavage - the most common, but still a wonderful vision.

That was the question I woke up thinking about the other day and the following were my pros and cons on the matter:
- Cleavage is the most commonly observed of the three - in the public domain. However; padding, push-up devices and smooshing together can lead to misleading presentations of shape and size.
- With sideboobs and underboobs you can be more confident that what you see is what you get.
- Sideboobs lend themselves to more covert observation.
- The underboobs look requires a certain level of perkiness which usually commends itself to the beholder.
- With underboobs there is a greater chance for slippage and revelation to occur.
For me the answer is clear: Underboobs win.
