I don't know, maybe I don't know how to look at it the way you do, but in my opinion, the girl's storyline is still intact. It's gaining more details after the revisions. Her brother's storyline remains between the lines. In the intermissions. It's just that her brother is not a standalone character but rather a supporting character who helps the development (or rather, the expansion of horizons) of her sister or the 2nd MC, even if this MC is NPC.

From what I've gathered from as l recent posts, all these a completely different versions not really a reboot, trying different things before he finally settles on a single story

ya but that was also the issue cause till the 2.0 updates the brother was a main character as well, they were both pickable, or solo routed and then they had the shared scenes in between the MC and then home alone, and the choices effected the home scenes during the day, but hitting the remake stat he kinda just removed the brother each update everytime with less and less interactions pretty much between them and honestly just killing all the progress all together imo. half the fun of the game was the corruption aspect, with the MC slowly breaking down the walls, and then the 2 of them kinda progressing together based on the choices of the day on what they did after and now its kinda just lost its MC push. And now its just random characters with almost no introduction pretty much stealing the limelight. Personally it just feels like he had a plan and then got bored and just is throwing things at the wall to see what sticks rather then just doing what he was originally.

Seen it a hundred / thousand other times. Dev gets suck in remake hell and the game just gets abandoned. Wont be too long for that to happen here as well. We have had more remakes than actual updates to the game.

Think of it less as an update, and more as a remake. Old saves are not compatible. You need to start over.

Ya the last 2 updates were almost remakes, nothing is the same over all, reused and new content but all different and most removed

The last couple updates weren't full releases, they were previews only holding a section of content. It even says so right as you start. So old saves won't work, saves made now probably won't work in the next one either, until a full release is released.
