Sex or story?

Unless the story is a main draw there should be some quicker stuff by update 3 imo. But build up should not be neglected. Bonus points if the story amplifies the kinkiness of the scenes
 
I guess the sex is a little more important, but honestly both need to be good, for the game to be great.
 
Story/context really just enhances the sex. It's like the difference between emotionless browsing CG rips and blasting rope to knowing what the context is for those CGs
 
When the story goes like 4+ updates and there's no actual sex (something not ending in "job."), the game sucks. If it goes years without it, anyone still playing has something wrong.
Baldur's Gate 3 took 3 years before we got any sex. And what if a game has nothing but rimjobs to the male mc every update 😂

Total shit game, either case. If it has the latter thing at all I don't want to play it.
 
I think in the short run a few sex scenes is nice, but if you have a story to tell, you will need a build up to those sex scenes to get the people interested. You need to establish something that gives you a desire to know more.

Lets take foreign world, reclaiming the lost as an example, it takes a few updates before we see any sex scenes. It did capture me and I wanted the next update, I would suggest I'm not alone in this. Of course reclaiming the lost, started to get a bit chaotic with girls that look similar, so when something happened, I didn't know who is who anymore. Foreign World did good, by first slowly building up the relationships, you know who is who, before you stick your dick in them.

Then we have some games, where in the first update we have a few nice sex scenes, but I forgot the titles, or the relationships. I probably will play it, if it returns in latest updates, but further I won't think about it...

We also have those games like Symphony of the Serpents, Guilty Pleasure or Grandma's House, they have a lot of sex, or at least 1 in every update, but the updates are so frequent, that you keep remembering the title, and a bit of the story, al be it, there isn't much story in those last ones.
 
For me a story is an important part around the sex scenes. I think it is not always about having too much story vs. sex scenes. It's kinda boring when you play a guy where all other characters you meet end up in a sex scene.

Portions of the story should have aspects of the possible (sexual) realationships. Just to give an example to have an idea:

Boring: The main character drives to work (including work related story line), goes shopping etc.

More interesting: The main character e.g. a dad that accidently touched his daughters ass the day before and drives to work and is fighting with his conscience as he gets more and more naughty thoughts - starts to fantasize (the extreme would be for example going to the bathroom and bust a nut) On the other side the daughter has similar struggles. She may go shopping to buy some revealing clothing to tease/seduce her father.
 
Depends of the game. I would say that mostly sex but story sometimes does rly good job.
"Summer's Gone" is example of rly good story.
 
A good balance of both. Like a lot of others are saying, it depends on the game. I personally like it when there's a build-up to sex. Character development is crucial to me, and needs plenty of fetishes to choose from. Vanilla sex doesn't turn me on that much.
Of course, there may be some characters that are easily seduced to sex or slutty, but the game shouldn't be filled with characters like that. I need something to work towards. I like when I have possibilities to achieve what I want, such as, being nice, romantic seduction, blackmail, manipulation, or corrupt a character. It shouldn't be rushed or be too easy, and it also shouldn't be too time-consuming. Teasing a bit here and there might be a decent way to stretch it a little longer. It has to be balanced (y)
 
Ignore the responses here and make the game you want to make. Do you want to make a glorified porn browser? Make it. Do you want to make a detailed story? Make it. Do you want to make awesome characters that people want to do sex scenes with and will wait for? Make it.

I prefer the game to have much more sex than dialogue. So much text is boring and cuts off your excitement. And the other question, well, you see, I like to do it several times with the same character, but when I find the one I like the most, it's with That's the one I usually repeat.

I'm sure we degenerates would say sex, but there are some good ass games where the sex ain't even the focus, great eg. The DeLuca Family
 
i think it depends.. I don't mind if there isn't much sex at the beginning, as long as there are suggestive scenes (you know, typical scene where you see the girl changing, bathing, etc, etc.). But if there is like HOURS of story without sex is a little boring If the girls didn't attract me enough to stay and grind.. And if there is sex from the beginning.. well.. isnt bad but i like to imagine a story, to understand the position of the mc in the story.. etc. If its just sex, then I prefer to search for porn haha
 
Ultimately you will need a balance, but I usually lean a bit more on the side of story. The story is what engages my brain and excites my sense of the erotic, while the sex keeps me engaged on the visual side.
