discussion Screenshots in VNs - What is your habit?

How many screenshots do you take in a VN?

I started off just grabbing things that were funny, "Easter egg" types of things (e.g., "Princess Bride" or "Monty Python" quotes), cameos from other VNs and a few "money shot" type caps from the lewd scenes.

That has evolved into still doing all the funny/weird/egg/cameo stuff, but now I capture all of the stills, and many, many caps of the animations, such that I can use a picture view and have a practically animated scene just by hitting the advance button. This basically allows me to do a replay of a scene without booting up the VN.

I also don't typically cap dialogue unless it's one of those joke/Easter egg kinds of thing, or something that was a typo/bad grammar that I can post back to let the Dev know.

So, what is your habit?

Don't think I've ever taken a screenshot in a VN, if I like a scene and the game has no galery I make a save there

Basically lewds.

Mostly poses +/- dialogue that matches the tags that I downloaded the game for.

Or, if the tags are dialogue based, game dialog modified by URM matched to the poses.

I have never taken a screenshot in a game. If scene replay replay feature is missing, I use saves instead.

I do the exact same thing. It's why I prefer games to have a gallery.

don't think i have ever saved a screenshot, but yea galleries are a huge addition. i feel they even give the game a bit more depth as you can normally reference them for things you've missed

I don't take screenshots and barely I use galleries, but to check missing content. I prefer to have my own safe points.

Mainly funny lines or scenes or WTF moments. If I like the characters, then sweet moments too. This one is just funny.

Taken a few by accident, but nope, I don't screenshot those games.
I barely even screenshot real games. I do however record short clips in those and turn them into webms.
If I want to see something again in a VN I just load up an old save or use the gallery.

Don't really screenshot at all unless I'm going to post it to comment on something.

Occasionally if I'm playing something with images or text that flash by quickly and are easily missed (mainly Lessons in Love) I'll record the screen so I can play it back slowly enough to catch.

Ngl, I used to screenshot the shit out of everything...really no idea why. Can't say I've ever had one of those days where it's, "Well, time to look at all those screenshots... Kinda wasted HD space at this point, I guess.

I do use, UnRen for the Ren'Py games now and just "yoink" particular ones, mostly naughty bits (still do nothing with them...). *sigh*

I do wish there was an UnRen-type utility for RPGM games. I just want every pic out of "Coceter Chronicles" to this day.
I was "Print Screen" saving in "Paint", but that shit got tedious fast.

I'll check on it. There's a bunch about music out there. It had a little traction, though. Didn't see a "delete notice"...

I don't ever save screenshots. I feel the imagery without the surrounding story is just not really that useful.
