Replaying games for different paths/endings?

Thread owner
So far, I've never done that. Most of the time, there is one path I want and that's the one I'm going for. Basically, going for "lightside harem" takes care most of the path choices for me. In a few cases the developer decided to make things mutually exclusive for no good reason, and that means I either drop the game entirely or use a gallery mod. An example here is "Project Myriam" which has a ton of pointlessly exclusive content, but also has amazing sex scenes, so gallery mod it is.

I will probably do that once "Eruption Imminent" has its next update. The different paths there go along with a different personality of Ashe, the main character, so it makes sense that they are different. And all of them are sufficiently enticing to me that I want to see what is going on - although I'll probably view dom-Ashe as my "canon" playthrough.
Project Myriam. Now that's a doozy. Like the scenes. The rest, not so much. Gallery Mod's the only way to go for that one. Others are a sludge-fest.

Another problem is even in different paths, the vast majority of the game is the same thing, so you'd have to go through the same stuff (often the boring shit) over and over again. Even worse is the blue ball games that are a shit ton of boring shit.

For the most part I won't end up playing VNs over again to see different paths, although I do have two saves with different choices on AlwaysFan and I've played tons of different saves on Free Cities.

I generally prefer to go solo with my favorite girl (there is almost always one that stands out) even in harem games, and then I move on to another game. An exception would be Depraved Awakening, where I couldn't (and still can't) for the life of me decide between Karli, Mi-do, Judy and Christina (the last 2 are best experienced together), so I tried every combo.

There are some that are worth a replay. Good Girl Gone Bad has so many paths, that it's well worth a second, third or more play-through. Other just get me going and I am not yet sick of them.

9/10 times i wont replay unless i love the character.
definitely will pick up save files to see all thje content if i ahve too

What game/VN would you replay from beginning till end more than once to see all paths/branches? On the opposite spectrum, what games aren't worth the time for a replay in your opinion?
Four Elements Trainer. You need to play it twice, otherwise you're loosing 50% of quality content.

Leap of Faith was worth going down all the paths, though I started at a save made at the split

URM is great for mostly linear games. Save at a split, go down the alternate path, then go back and replay the one you would have

Is it really that good? I saw it mentioned a few times but as i ain't an Avatar fan, I've never looked into it much/

Just note that this game is not based on RenPy or Unity, it's based on Visual Studio. So there are not and will not be Android versions, for example. Although the game is fully animated, but zhto leads to a very large volume, download it better through a torrent, one archive. You can use this torrent file, it is from the island of plesure.
Please don't link to games not listed here. If you would like us to have the game here please make a request in the game request area.

I rarely replay games. If i missed a route then i just say to myself. "Thats rough buddy" then move onto another game. But if i really like the game i replay it and ends up picking the same choices since i like the LI in that game.

I prefer games that let the player see all the scenes in one playthrough, I often use walkthrough mode for that very reason.

I have to really like the game to play it from the beginning again just to go down a new path, like Four Elements trainer.

While i do replay good games, i dont look for endings when i dont like the path.
If a female protagonist only has one lesbian ending i never would check the hetero routes. And i hate pick one endings, so the game is done if i saw the best girls ending and then i delete it. Adult games need a harem endling to stay on my hdd.

4 elements trainer is indeed very good, especially the Azula episode, but I would not recommend it to someone who hasn't seen the anime. Parody games are much better if you already know the characters' personalities, which is also a shortcut for the devs to avoid setting them up, before romancing/corrupting them.

The only game I've condisered replaying for a different ending is DMD. But it's so long and I don't even know what I would have to do differently.

I'm pretty sure this doesn't count.

In Something Unlimitied, I do replay most of the events to try and get all of the scenes.

But that's not the same as replaying the game.

The differences in gameplay have to be more than 50% incl. new LIs, scenes, a.s.o. ... otherwise it's a waste of time to play the same content over and over again,
just for some lines of text and a few different renders.
Nearly no game ever (that I played so far) had this amount of changes between the different routes.

Honestly, the games i play are too long to just go back and replay a different path, but when i do i end up choosing the original path cause it was too good in the first place :ROFLMAO:
