discussion Ren"pl skipping way too fast

So I have Unseen Text selected for my games using Ren"Py but for some reason when I press CTRL it skips until the next choice. It only recently started doing this. Is there a way to revert this ? It is happening in every Ren'Py game I have.

I've already deleted the APP Data from the REN'Py folder but still no luck ;/

I can't seem to replicate this but a potential work around if it doesn't do the same behavior is to use the TAB button instead of CTRL, it is automated skip you don't need to hold it down like you would with CTRL.

For the issue though, Is this impacting all games you are playing, or is it specific ones?
What happens if you have unseen text disabled, does it work as expected for content you have seen? Or does it still skip the seen text to the next choice.

I did try to search your issue and I couldn't see anyone else reporting CTRL skipping to next choice so if it is not specific to the game itself or maybe something unique with your preferences I'm not sure what else to really do to troubleshoot the issue.

Using TAB also skips until the next selectable choice Doesn't matter if I have unseen text enabled or disabled. It affects every game currently. Gonna keep digging

I know that Ren'Py has a command to skip to next choice, but it wasn't the same as normal skipping. It should be > or →, I don't remember. If it was a specific game, maybe the author would've changed, but all games is indeed very weird.

Thie enoys me as well!!! no matter what speed I set on auto forward time, it races along like a bullet train..

Yeah and it only changed recently so must of been something I downloaded ;/ I will reset back a couple days see if I can replicate

if you're looking for more flexibility in your ren'py games maybe consider using something like the universal ren'py mod
