Complete VN Ren'Py VAM Rational Chaos [Seasons 1-2-3 Complete] [Goosenards]

SD? I don't seem to remember a finish.
SD is finsished too (far worse ending that RC). Could have been a case you were mentally traumatized from it and your mind subconsciously tried to forget. Only one still happening now is AWT, but that's ending soon as well (3 endings, not sure if they will be released all in one update or not).

I meant WTF is SD?

Sparkling Duplicity
A much shittier game
OK. Never heard of it, but I block a lot of tags/all engines not Renpy and ignore anything cartoon looking.

Is this abandoned? Been forever since an update.
It's finished, but the ending was honestly terrible. Felt like it was rushed and it didn't make any sense. It's the reason I didn't play SD, because that ending apparently is even worse and I didn't want to deal with that. Apparently this dev just rushes the endings of his games just to start a new game. Feels like the story (can't really speak of SD) is just incomplete, which wouldn't be an issue if the dev at least made it make sense.

Guess this is a dev to avoid then...

Sparkling Duplicity. Consistency issues aside (first in high school then in college while trying to get into a good college) if you really want a "wtf was up with that ending" moment, play that one, it's only 3 updates so not that long (maybe a couple hours or less).

No thanks. I had enough of dumb ending ones - like College Bound. A bad ending ruins the whole game (or movie, book, etc.)

To be fair, SD has some of the best chemistry between the MC and a teenage LI (Blair) that I've ever seen in AVNs. The animations are also superb as usual in Goosenards games.
Unfortunately the Dev is a sprinter and seems to be unable to make a long quality game, but on the short distances the result is good.

Result can only be considered good if the "Rushed" ending made sense, None of them do and in fact the ending to both games made it seem like there should be more to it. Short games in and of themselves aren't bad, they become bad when they are rushed and make no sense. I've played games that were only 1-2 hours in length that were good because they made sense and weren't rushed for an ending.

Worse part is I'm pretty sure the dev knows this is how people feel and he's done nothing to correct it or even try to improve. Maybe his next game won't feel like it's unfinished by the end of it. Who's to say?! But, as of right now, this dev is not good as far as stories go. However; I'm a firm believer in giving credit where it's do and I will say the renders and animations are pretty good. Though that only gets you so far when the story is disappointing.

So the sex scenes and girls were hot, but the "choice" system in the first season (which is longer than the other two seasons combined) was much more of a detriment than a positive. It's not really choices so much as random opportunities to miss out on sex scenes while leaving you confused about the continuity later.

It resulted in a very confusing first playthrough where it skipped over a bunch of days and suddenly Delilah is talking to Brittany about how we've been fucking even though no such scenes ever happened for me. Turns out I was supposed to take the side of my daughter in the first scene and I picked Brittany on my first playthrough because kicking someone seemed like a much more extreme action than just touching someone.

Then this happened again with Kaleigh who I didn't fuck at the first chance because I figured it would come back to bite me later if Delilah found out... But no, MC and her just carry on as if they'd always been fucking. Denying her is never brought up and the game just pretends you gave into her desires.

None of the choices mattered for the characters or story, so I'm glad they were ditched for seasons 2 and 3. I get that creating a branching story is immensely more difficult than not, but IMO, that's all the more reason to just not do choices in the first place. This isn't an issue unique to this game, but I do think this was the most egregious instance of it that I've seen. If you're going to make the choices illusory, then make those choices unimportant to the overall narrative so that it's not so confusing later.

Paisey and Brittany saved the game for me.

simple multi-mod, for the hell of it
- WT/choice guide
- textbox with opacity slider in the options (0-75%)
- normal human Sans instead of whatever font dev uses
- reshuffle UI a bit for more standard experience

for:
Season 1 Episodes 1-4 version 0.4
Season 2 Episodes 1-4 version 0.8 (no choices here, so just UI mod, compatible with any version/update/episode/season)

edit:
Season 3 doesn't have any choices as of yet - you can use S2 mod for all the UI changes and textbox
S1 only works if you keep the names at default. However Season 2 mod doesn't work at all.. Even when you keep the names default you still get a script error everytime any characters name is mentioned. Literally every few renders there's an error. Il try removing the script files and only add the textbox files to see if it works.

Enjoyed this game quite a bit until the last season. Too much Brittany, not enough Delilah, and Kayleigh ended up being so insignificant, that she might as well not have been in the story. She should've been apart of the the cult storyline tbh.
Despite the rushed ending and messy plot though, this is definitely at least a 7/10. Some of the most fluid animations I've ever seen in a 3D porn game.

That's one of the perks of VAM, characters may look cartoony compared to Daz or good AI, but unlike those it was designed to work with animations from the start rather than an aftermarket hack job that I'm surprised some can animate with as good as they do beyond the 2-render flip-flops like used to be done.
