the wait time between updates is anything but outstanding

I'm unsure if the term "wards" is meant to replace "daughters", or if MC just didn't do the math to figure out their age matches the date of the accident plus 9 months.

After x amount of time living together ward seems like a hollow or uncaring term to refer to them as, especially when introducing them to friends or even just MC thinking to himself. Call them something endearing like my people or my clan or crew or tribe, something familiar instead of just "these are the things I'm forced to feed as they were assigned to me by their mother" lol

if you are a ward than an adult is given guardian status by the courts or high authority.
they can be blood related or not, it's a way to get past the incest censorship

It feels like that because the dude only updates the game once a year lol. One of the best games out there in my opinion but it gets screwed by the low amount of updates.

"Wards" is an incest dodge, like "roommates", and the story makes effectively zero sense with it.

Quite liked it when first discovered game, but man, it was quite long ago and there not quite much content was made for all this time, so "average and maybe wait till completed" is current verdict for this one.

Unfortunately I'm in the same boat. It's a real shame, especially since the odds of this game ever being fully complete doesn't seem very high at it's current rate of development. Can only hope for the best it seems

Most annoying thing that such situation currently trending across whole gamedev and while part of it is understandable cuz people do have some circumstances and do burn out, especially due to "lets purge everything sexual from internet" bullshit which money gamechangers adopted, there a lot of it just cuz devs perfected ways of milking, and you every time doubt which case it is this time.

Yea this is definitely not an average game. Even though the game is already 5 years old it still looks better than like 80% of the new stuff coming out. Only problem with this game is the lack of updates.

ya, update range takes away from everything that's good with it.

it's like having a great job with really great pay, great people to work with & you have to sit in traffic 2.5 hours there & 2.5 hours back home

Either way, it's still better than the average game. At any given time I have a back-log of 50-100 games, so I don't mind waiting for updates.

me too & instead of keeping a half terabyte of games on my hdd that i have to keep updating & replying because i don't remember WTF is going on after playing 20 games during the update wait, i'm just going to let the game get completed before playing most games.

i replaced that half terabyte of games with a 693 byte text file
its about not wasting time, my time

For me, my memory is pathetic, so anything longer than a month is the same as waiting any amount of time longer than that. If you are worried about space, you can delete any Ren'py games as the save file is stored in the user directory, assuming the save file will work with future updates

While I do agree unfinished and slow progress of projects gets annoying, it is just a reality of their niche. Especially when you have movements that actively hinder or threaten any livelihood you can make, like you said. That said in the modern day and age I can't really fault people going for the easy pay check. Devs milking is annoying I agree, but the root of the issue is, like it or not, is the people giving their money for nothing in the first place

Can anyone not think that, with the most latest release OVER A YEAR AGO, that this should not be officially known as ABANDONED?

EDIT: Chapter 4 was released near Sept 4, 2022. ????

He is still active in his discord promising updates. It does absolutley take way longer than it should be id wager it will get updated again.
