Fetishes probably are more common than most people think they are, but in the larger scheme of things, they aren't common at all. Which is to say that most people have kinky things they like to do sometimes when having sex, but that isn't necessarily a fetish, which is some thing a person so strongly associates with sexual gratification that they can't genuinely get aroused without it. I don't really understand that concept in general, so a list of fetishes I don't get would be too long for a forum post. I will say that fetishes can be interesting as a kind of curiosity or novelty in VNs and adult games if they aren't taken too far.
