I prefer RPG's, every variation. I do enjoy other genres, as I don't stick to just one. I especially like Survival Horror and Metroidvania's.

I really miss Dune 2000. I wish someone would modify it for windows 10 or 11

4x - Mostly space (i prefer fleets over armies and colonizing planets over building settlements - and i always prefer exterminating humans over playing them)
RTS - SciFi and fantasy prefered (mostly because i prefer not to play common humans)
RPG - Only with magic (i never pick classes/fractions without it)
ARPG - Mostly sword (in games like shadow warrior), fun weapons (like scissors and molotovs in postal2), special skills (like mutations in prototype or biotics in mass effect)
Beat'em'up - They became rare but i still like them
Hack'n'slay - Only with big/deep/epic story or anime adaptions, just fighting to survive isnt enough ^^
Speaking of, survival games need uncommon/special settings like ark
Franchise - I played every Star Trek and every Lord of the Rings game and liked most of them

What i cant stand are jump'n'run, qte, auto-scroller games, standalone minigames, linear/not customizable protagonists/species, forced stealth (mission failed when disovered), sport games and simple shooters with common guns.

That being said, i dont play online, at least not with strangers, LAN and friends are okay. Sure, rush to win is (often) a working strategy, but i prefer to use everything a game has to offer instead of building the cheapest possible hit squad to end the game right away...and since i always loot everything and never let enemies escape, i also need more time in other genres, especially with the annoying limited inventory space - my main reason to cheat/mod games...okay, that and natural/adult content, no slaughtered enemy has the right to keep its bra and if i can kill them i should also be able to fuck them, thats basic realism ^^

rts games and rpgs, also crafting and logistics games, mostly ones with lots of automation.

rpg for me.
I really like Divinity original sin 2 and Xenoblade 1-3

It's a bit of a difficult question. I think we all have a type of game that we are best at but it is not necessarily our favorite style of game. Furthermore, I believe that tastes evolve over the years and what you liked as a teenager, you may no longer like as an adult. Personally, I like FPS, but lately they bore me even though I'm very good at them. I love psychological horror ones and RPG´s, but I no longer have time to dedicate to them. I think at this point the genre I like the most is Colony Management.

Horror and Stealth are the best, but I also enjoy FPS games.

you play any paradox games? but to answer thread question it is single-player with a leaning mostly towards strategy and management. rpgs is fun too, either turn based or with real time that can be paused

I spend more than 4000 hours on CK2, now it's CK3 and stellaris, often with a lot of mods.

Mine are
  • Simulations (Sim City series, Cities Skylines etc.)
  • Factory games (Satisfactory, Factorio, Dyson Sphere Program, Captain of Industry...)
  • RTS (C&C series for example)
  • Open world games in general

last of us
resident evil saga
call of duty saga
fantasy I,II,III.IV,V,VII...saga
Silent hunter III
open space games
il2 sturmovik
Elite dangerous
dying light I,II
Weapon 2 and 3

RPGs, Roguelikes, or pretty much anything that lets you cast spells/use magic. I can only handle sim games for so long before it starts to feel like a chore, but I respect the hell out of people that can sink hundreds/thousands of hours into em

I play pretty much anything if it interests me, but my go-to tend to be fighting games, roguelikes, or single player action games.
I'm really fond of ARPGS as well.

Where I can start?..
I like almost everything but my favorite genre it's certanly RTS, from AgeOfEmpire II (my first) to C&C series (not the IV Twilight shit), trought Company of Hero ecc.
also turns based like Civilization IV
other favorites are FTS (Wolfenstein, CoD, Serious Sam, Unreal ecc)
also Sport simulators like FIFA or Flight simulators (civilian and military)
I don't dislike platform
There's one thing I don't really like, the online multiplayer based games like Team Fortress
