I also use that as an example a lot for the fact that older TV shows just used to have more output than the new ones. Almost all seasons had 20+ episodes while in modern TV shows its most likely like 8 or 10. And the time it takes to wait for another season ist the same. For example I really liked Fallout, but season 1 was way to short and now it will be probably at least a year or two until the next season.

transformers 1984, thunder cats 1985, voltron 1984 and mask will always be special to me this makes me look really old premise im not that old lmao

I watched a ton of very old TV as a kid because of Nick at Night.

I really liked Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In, possibly because of how often a very young Goldie Hawn was running around in a bikini.

I liked The Donna Reed Show because I thought Donna Reed was like the all-time hottest woman to appear in a black & white show. The show itself was kinda boring, though.

I really liked Dobie Gillis, though I couldn't tell you why.

And of course, The Dick Van Dyke show, only partially because Mary Tyler Moore was incredibly cute in it, I also just really liked it in general.

Every time I've seen a modern cartoon somewhere it makes me appreciate growing up with the old Cartoon Network ones.

The saddest part about this is that, even when they were stretching out story lines and adding filler episodes to a season so they could hit their 30 episodes a year, the creativity and stories and writing and all that were STILL miles better than the drivel they are producing today. There is this idea that they can make an 8-10 episode season so they can jam pack it full of good content, but hollywood is so creatively bankrupt and inept that here we are reminiscing about old TV shows because there is so little being made today that truly remarkable...

Buffy the vampire slayer. Plus Sarah Michelle Gellar is hot.

When I started watching mash, I was surprised that this series was so good.

There was one that only lasted like 1 season in the late 80s called "The Highwayman." The Australian guy who was in the Energizer commercials before they used the rabbit toy was the sidekick in it.

i'm not british but somehow i grew up on red dwarf. really loved that show. even some of the modern continuation stuff is good

Avatar the Last Airbender; I miss waiting for the new episodes as a kid on Nickelodeon.

I loved watching "According to Jim" on comedy central, when i was very young. Nice times

Star Trek The Next Generation. Really any ST show other than Discovery.

Some older ones that could be enjoyable to some people; Gilligan's Island, Get Smart, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie.

Been re-watching The Lost World recently, special-fx were janky as hell but the characters were awesome.
Worth a watch if you like the Jungle Girl trope.

Transformers 1984 was a blast I'm old to remember watching it as well. Loved the TV movie as well.
