I have tried a few, but once I had something called Cuba Cola and it was pretty damn good, cheap as all hell though.

If I drink them side by side I can taste that there is a difference, but I can very rarely identify a cola by its taste.

There is a national off-brand cola here but it taste like piss

I prefer regular Coca-Cola. I used to drink some kind of local/national off-brand cheap cola that didn't taste too bad as far as I can remember, come to think of it, it may even have been one of the bottlers for either coke or Pepsi that owned it.
That was many years ago though.
Any other ones that I've tried don't really taste that good to me.

I was never a fan of coca cola, for name brand always chose pepsi over it. However ice cold RC in as glass bottle was one of the best tasting cola's in the 80s and 90s, but at that time it wasnt really an off brand.

Best off brand cola and all other variations is hands down Shasta. Sadly though I currently live like 5 hours from the Shasta plant, not one grocer near my home sells Shasta products, but when I lived twice as far away, it was everywhere.

Jolt was meh, Faygo cola is crap, but all the fruit flavor Faygo are great, probably the best strawberry soda. I think if we gonna talk about soda, should be something more eclectic, like best blackcherry soda. There is a "candy" store that opened at the outlet mall not too far from me that has 100s of glass bottled soda of varying brands. Been systematically trying every cream soda and black cherry. Its slow go cause I hate spending 3 dollars for 12 ounces for the novelty of it when I know I could likely order them online for 9bucks a 6 pack if I simply looked.

anyway sams choice products are good and i prefer their cola over coca as well, but i really dont like coca. that companies only saving grace is barqs root beer

RC is awesome, but the best is Cherry RC. That shit's cocaine. It's also extremely rare.

Canada Dry's got good stuff too, especially tonic water and ginger ale.

All of-brands colas doesn't seem to taste right. It's not bad, but have something differente. The same with Pepsi.
If I can choose, I'll always choose Coca-Cola.

Done a local store version of both coke and Dr Pepper. On "not really an off brand" but no longer a "big" brand that I like is RC Cola. I might grab a bottle when it's on sale.

There is some good off brand root beer out there. I cant remember the brand but it used sugar instead of corn syrup. I think sugar instead of corn syrup helps a lot. Even the glass bottles of coke with sugar are way better than the cans of coke with corn syrup, in my opinion.

Two words: Funnelcake Soda. It was "limited edition" and it should stay that way. It was like drinking maple syrup from the bottle, made even worse by drinking it on a hot summer day. Cheap grandparents meant it was the only thing in the house. The Key lime soda wasn't as bad, but not too good either.

Totally like off-brand-cola and other off-brand sodas - also love that they are so much cheaper than the brand names.
